Two days ago I sent the NYC Animal Care Centers an inquiry about Annabelle. When I adopted her in Sept. 2017, her adoption papers from K9Kastle included the NYC ACC sheet on her. It had a photo, her intake number A1126007, and an age: 1 year old. Her vet Dr Mohr later said she was younger, probably between 6 and 10 months old. It's impossible to access information on an animal on the NYCACC.org site once it's rescued or euthanized, so my inquiry was about how she ended up at the Manhattan ACC and what they could tell me about her examination and assessment. Yesterday I got this nice email from one Robin Akus:
Annabelle was in our old system from 2017. She came in on 9/19/17 and then was sent to K9Kastle on 9/24 so we did not have here here very long. She was found as a stray in the Bronx and a lost/ found search did not yield an owner. Her life previously may have been that of a community cat in the area, there are many outdoor cat communities that people care for in the city.
I have two behavior and enrichment notes from the time but that is about it before she left our care. She seemed to be very sweet from the beginning. Hope this helps.

Lying in litterbox with a relaxed body, ears forward. She vocalizes softly when spoken to and stands up to come forward and greet my hand with a head-butt. Allows petting along her head and body while leaning in with a raised tail. At front of kennel vocalizing and watching me after interaction has ended. Social kitty, doing well!
