Friday morning I arrived at work to find a red rose on my desk and my cubicle decorated with a Happy Birthday banner

Aww, nice 😊

To ignite we watched this version of Much Ado About Nothing on PBS

https://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/much-ado-about-nothing-full-episode/10194/

I remember when it was broadcast last year.

I think the first time I ever heard of "Peer Gynt" was in the movie, Educating Rita, where (I had to look this up) Michael Caine's character said:  In reply to the question "Suggest how you would resolve the staging difficulties inherent in a production of Ibsen's Peer Gynt", you have written, quote: "Do it on the radio." Unquote.

I, of course, have no idea what the staging difficulties inherent in a production of Ibsen's Peer Gynt are.

Goddaughter Charlotte and I saw this in the theatre at Lincoln Center when it was first released.  It's a lot of fun but I still prefer the brilliant 1971(2?) Public Theatre version with Sam Waterston and Kathleen Widdoes.

All was good and quiet on West 82nd Street until 4:45 when Annabelle, sleeping beside me, had a violent sneezing fit and blew snot everywhere.  Then Stella got under my bed and played very noisily with a brush.  Annabelle calmed down and went back to sleep.  Stella did not.

I had a dream which I barely remember now except that at one point I could see in a mirror that I wore my hair, when I had hair, in the style I worse it in my 1960s Brylcreem period.

T.O.D.

Except for Warner Bros. cartoons, I'm not much into short films.

Obviously, my favorite is one I made back in 1964, GENESIS, which was narrated by John Carradine.

Not much market for short films.

This is a Saturday that almost doesn't feel like a Saturday.

Which I guess is okay, since I've already had so many extra Saturdays this year.
