Just finished That's Entertainment II, which may be my favorite in the series if only for Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly.

They all seem like really good people beyond being great performers.

Backstage at Kritzerland was very interesting and a lot of fun. I think I liked Rober Yacko the best, but everyone was good.

Bruce, you probably won't know until tomorrow, but how was attendance?

Waiting for Paul McCartney to appear on ACL Fest 2020 on YouTube. He's scheduled for a hour from now, 10:05 p.m. CT. This is footage from the concert I saw a few years back.

Attendance wasn't what it is for the real shows, but we had sixty people between the two sites and I think a lot of folks watch after the fact, including some of our very own folks.

It was fun watching McCartney again, and the pyrotechnics surrounding Live and Let Die were captured and edited well. The finale, Hey, Jude, was as wonderful as I remembered.

Well, I didn't make it back to watch Backstage at Kritzerland as it was streaming live (sorry BK), but I did just watch it.

To change the subject:  Nothing like a good molded salad...

Of course, "good" can be very subjective. ;)

If you like molded salads, I'm not sure what you can do.

Yum. Are there lima beans or sardines floating in there?

:o

From DR George yesterday "Matthew (and anyone else interested), did you know that ALW started to write a version of Aspects of Love in the early 1980s with Tim Rice?  When that didn't happen, Trevor Nunn wrote some lyrics, and a couple of YouTube videos are out there:

"I Don't Talk to Strangers," with lyrics by Tim Rice (this was an actual released recording)

"Married Man," with Trevor Nunn lyrics, performed live on The Merv Griffin Show

When THAT didn't happen, most of the music went into the version of The Phantom of the Opera that everyone now knows (plus a little Fanciulla del West. ;) "

Yes I did know that.  Tim Rice thought he was working on Aspects of Love and all of a sudden the melodies he set were in another show!   He was quite surprised.  I'd never heard "I Don't Talk to Strangers" before, thank you for posting that!

My pleasure, Matthew!

And the video that I posted of Andrew and Sarah on The Merv Griffin Show...I actually remember watching that actual episode when it was broadcast!

I remember because I'd read in the TV Guide that they were going to be on, and I got my little Sears (I think) audio cassette recorder and stuck it in front of my TV speaker and actually recorded that song and had been listening to it for years.

When I bought the original London cast album of The Phantom of the Opera (not having heard anything from it before I got the record) and I heard that tune, I just started laughing my head off because I had known it as the song about the woman in love with a married man that Sarah Brightman sang on The Merv Griffin Show! :D
