Just arrived from London by way of Amazon.co.uk:  The Definitive Supercalifragilistic 2020 Cast Recording of Mary Poppins!  Last month, I received from Germany the Original Munich Cast Recording (in German!) of Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng. :D

I heard it was a rather Tschitti recording.

What a shame he never recorded one, three, five, six, and eight.

True.

I'm watching a Polish movie called Chopin: Desire for Love. It's all poorly dubbed into English. And so far, the music hasn't been inspired.

Liszt just appeared. The music just got better.

Good Afternoon!

Home from school, the Dr for blood work, etc... My brother came a fixed a lamp for me, so that was nice to see him and catch up with him.

Today is my mom's birthday and on a whim I decided to do a Facebook Live thing this evening in her honor.  I need to get cracking to put my set list together.  It will have to be things I know well as there is no time to rehearse.

Had a very long talk with Carol. Her infection doesn't seem to be going away, and the doctor has placed on a strict Keto diet to get her to lose weight, as if that is the only answer to her problems. She's ready to give it a try.

Now it's back to the last 50 minutes of Chopin. It's only getting worse. Chopin seems to have been a hopeless egomaniac, which doesn't make for an interesting drama.

And now, I must be off.  I want (but don't really need) to do a little shopping, but I kind of want to see what, if anything, places like Fred Meyer or Costco are doing to limit the number of customers (again). ::)

Well, the FB Live thing went well.  Lots of Happy Birthday wishes for Mom, lots of great songs- I think the Neil Sedaka section was too long and maybe I picked the wrong songs, but towards the end I did the slow version of "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" and that is always a pleaser.

Now it's back to the task at hand - getting OUT of this apartment!

Did a little work on project two, revising the opening a bit, then went and put gas in the motor car.  Now finishing up the Bernstein Mahler cycle on Sony - now playing, the seventh.  VERY different than Mr. Klemperer, who is twenty minutes SLOWER - both interpretations work fine but Klemperer just takes his sweet time and luxuriates in the Mahler sound world.

Not even the music could make up for a terrible script, badly delivered by the cast.

I've also got a bit of The Girl with the Louding Voice read today. I'm finally getting into it. It's got a little Dickens influence in the storytelling, which is certainly effective.
