BK, I have a plethora of Sleeping Beauty DVDs and CDs, Of the CDs, I like the complete ones by Previn, Bonynge, and Dorati, who conducted it for years with the Ballets Russes. I think it's my favorite Tchaikovsky composition, and my complaint with every staged production I've seen is that they all have to make cuts in the score; otherwise, the ballet with intermissions would last close to four hours, and they all make different cuts.
When the Royal Ballet, formerly Sadlers Wells Ballet, reopened after the war, the chose ballet was The Sleeping Beauty, with glorious designs by Oliver Messel. The production was a hit as well in the company's first trip to the US. NBC, I believe, broadcast a performance starring the reigning Royal Ballet superstar Margot Fonteyn, which I saw around 1953. The kinescope has been released on DVD.
