Elmore, I saw Lucky Stiff many many years ago at a tiny local theater that did very good productions. I didn't expect much, but my gosh! It was so funny! We bought tickets to see it a second time

I saw it again in a different theater a couple years later. It was pretty bad. I rarely even smiled during it.

That happened once with Forever Plaid. Even a mediocre production of Plaid is fun, since so many things go "wrong" during the show. Usually I chuckle through the show at all the little things. But I saw one production where they missed every single thing.

I am watching The Mauritanian. Well, sort of. I can't watch the waterboarding scenes.

We have, DR vixmom, and it is excellent. Kate Winslet is amazing. Final episode becomes available tonight.

I wish The Mauritanian had been better than it was. The script was far too superficial and the characterizations were not up to snuff. But the performances were much better. It was nice to see Jodie Foster in a good role. And while I hated Benedict Cumberbatch's accent, his performance was solid.

I am bummed that I'll be missing the live show tonight and the cast party. I'll be catching up later.

I have been sitting here listening in abject astonishment to my DH telling me about "Ghost Tours," a hometown tradition in his small southern Minnesota city of birth.

A group of people are guided around a cemetery, and at various stops a costumed person "pops" out from behind a gravestone, and delivers a monologue as that person about their life.

I'm not sure whether to grab the popcorn or a straighjacket.

;D

It could be interesting.  Sometimes Keith looks up interesting names we see when walking a cemetery.  Sadly he doesn't have much genealogy research to do anymore.

My brother likes it.  We decided to pass.  Maybe we will eventually watch it.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Fr. Richard celebrated mass today, in person, for the first time since March, 2020.  At the conclusion of his sermon, I heard someone sitting near me whisper, “Wow!”

DR TCB if your upstairs neighbors can hear you coughing then I have no idea why they would want to pull the carpet out.

I shall have to investigate this LUCKY STIFF business.....

Does anyone know if STEPPING OUT has an AMERICAN-set version that is NOT the full musical ONE NIGHT A WEEK, or something like that.

I would like to take it to my program committee, but I don't want to do the version set in England (we're talking community theatre actresses here - some of whom ....well) and I don't want the musical where everyone gets to sing a song about her life and struggles....
