Remade one piano track and did one new one. I'll try to do a couple of the easier ones tonight.

While it would have been nice to see more of Glacier Park the portion on the 16 miles of open road were lovely.  We were there for 5 hours.

We then drove to the charming old town of Whitefish and walked around for awhile.

Your headshots turned out really well, Bruce. You look really happy. Does Karen give everyone a little brownie when they enter her studio?

Then we drove through the little old town of Kalispell.   It is a shame there is a major road going through it.

I haz been stimulated by the U.S. Government! By mail.

Which is weird, because I am married filing jointly, and the DH's stimulus arrived 2 months ago via direct deposit.

But I am not complaining.

I am going to purchase an electric standing desk.

Congrats. I hope you're happy with the new desk and it gives you many years of good service.

We are staying at a Ho,iday Inn about a mile away from downtown Kalispell.   Nearby are several nice shopping strips including a Bed Bath and Beyond.  Since we need new sheets as soon as we are home, gotta switch out the winter flannel, we stopped on our way back to the hotel and decided which ones we want to order.  The store near us isn't all that convenient and we never seem to get there.

This has been a horrible day. I spent the morning weeping over Karla Burns and the afternoon weeping over my existence and my aches and pains. Every move I take, every step, every attempt to stand or sit is a walk to hell and back. I'm terrified that next week I will learn I have more cancer, I'm worried about living alone. I'm worried about the cats; I had hoped that property was actually selling and that I could set aside money for their care. I'm tired of living and scared of dying.

Sorry to hear this. Vibes the pain eases and you soon feel better!

I think singdaw was talking about a standing desk that can be adjusted electronically.

Finished The Great Imposter. Listening to the last of The Tales of Hoffman - very enjoyable. Then we'll see about another movie.

Last night I had a crisy style house made bean burger with salad and fries.  Keith had a Southwest chop salad.

Keith had the salad again tonight.  I had a small version of the salad with a plain bean burger on top, oh so good.

DR Jane - they say sitting is the new smoking. As in, bad for you. And since I answer phones for work all day, I think a standing desk is a good investment in my health.

So fun reading about your trip. DR Jane. My DH worked for two summers in Glacier and has very fond memories of it. I hope to visit some day.

The restaurant is called the MacKenzie River Puzza Pub and Grill.  There are 3 locations near us, including the one walking distance from the hotel.

13 total in Montana, 15 more in other states.  The only one in Washington is in Spokane.   We wish there was one in Vancouver.

And in your notes, what do you mean by, "...and the songs are, of course, diving."

I have NO idea what you're talking about :)

Spoo!  My mistake! ;D

I am very sad this morning to learn of the death of my friend, Karla Burns.  I met her in 1984, working on John McGlinn's "Songs of New York" recording. I had seen her earlier in the Houston Grand Opera production of Show Boat, for which she was nominated for a Tony. She didn't win, but she did win the Olivier Award in London for playing the same role in the Opera North production. Now, she and my friend Bruce Hubbard, her Joe in those productions, are together again. Before Bruce's death, we had talked about a pops concert act for the two of them as Paul Robeson and Hattie McDaniel.

I last saw her in Chicago, 2004, when I dragged her into a concert reading of Eubie Blake's show Tan Manhattan to do the comic soubrette role and sing several comedy numbers filled with double-entendre lyrics. She was brilliant.

She called me a couple of years ago and we talked for about an hour. I knew she was living in Wichita and performing there, and we swore we would worktogether again soon. I wish!

I'm so sorry, Larry.  I really enjoyed her recordings. :(

"GONE WITH THE WIND is going to be the biggest flop in history."
-- Gary Cooper

Just came across this.

Remember his words!

Maybe he was predicting the musical? ::)
