Today, I'm ushering again for a local dance school, but at the Washington Center.  Today's call time is 5:00, and I think I'll go to another air conditioned restaurant before the show, and maybe even after, too.  We'll see what it's like after the show.

It was a warm and muggy night. Annabelle abandoned her pillow next to me and moved to the other side of the bed to sleep next to Thatch.  Stella came barreling in some time around 4:00, but she didn't stay long, and when I checked the clock at 5:12, all three cats had vanished, only to return when I sat up, turned on the light and began to rise from my bed.

I am not looking forward to it, but the bathroom needs some serious cleaning today. I've let the cats run wild in there for too long.

DR George's dance event was an hour long. Once they had finished announcing the full event title, there was 20 minutes left for dancing.

Paddy Considine came to Broadway a couple of years ago with The Ferryman, but he was long gone by the time I saw it late in the run. I first saw him in the BBC Suspicions of Mr Whicher, in which he played Mr Whicher, a British detective  who was a model Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. I've also seen him in a small role in Hot Fuzz, which seems to be a Midsomer Murders parody, although I prefer the same team's horror parody Shaun of the Dead.

My favorite is In America, a heartbreaking, beautiful film in which he plays a young Irish man sneaking into the USA with his family to become an actor. Considine and the rest of the cast are absolutely wonderful.

I’ll second that. Beautifully acted film.

Kitty cleanup is over. I got in some bathroom cleaning, but I cannot find the pack of sponges I purchased several months ago. I'll order some from the corner bodega this morning and finish up this afternoon.

Sunday.  Today is a Family Reunion that I planned on attending - but instead I will be attending a Meeting of Bored that should have been scheduled NEXT Sunday, but that is July 4 - so maybe that is why it was changed.

It would have been nice to see my cousins - on my dad's side.  I am hoping a few of my brothers and sisters will attend.

I am still trying to figure out how I will stage GO GO GO JOSEPH with the small number of folks I have.

And of course talking again with the choreographer who for some reason feels that there should be a lyrical dance during the ENTIRETY of "Close of Every Door".....Joe is not singing backup so that somebody can prance around....  Dancing during the interlude only - a concept that is foreign to her.

HA!

Vibes for everyone.

Glad to hear that the playlet went well.  And I hope DR GEORGE has fun at his dance event.  Let me know if you see any steps I can use during the Act One Finale!

The previous owners arrived and picked up White Kitty on Thursday.....just the previous day she had moseyed over to my house and slept beside me as I sat in my rocker on the front porch.

As she was wrapping herself around my legs, I tapped my hand on my knees and she jumped up on my lap for a minute or two.....

I hope she is happy in her new home with her owners!

The sponges have been delivered, so I guess I need to make the bed and finish the bathroom.

Good morning one and all.  There's a new Broadway Radio Show now posted here for your enjoyment.  This edition is a chat with Actress/Singer Eleri Ward about her new album A Perfect Little Death a wonderful collection of Sondheim songs done in the style of folk singer Sufjan Stevens....it's a real treat and even more amazing that she recorded the whole album in her New York closet during the pandemic.  I think it's one of the best vocalist recordings of 2021.

Bells sounded good. But we need more players. It would be nice to fill out three octaves.

Just got back home from playing that church service which is an hour away.

They have now gone totally unmasked, etc. I'd played there a few times over the past year, so it was kind of strange to be doing so without my own mask. But it was warm, and good not to have one on.
