Today's Sunday morning listening is Rachmaninov's beautiful Vespers. After that, maybe a Schubert or Mozart mass.

Last night I slept very well, which is extremely rare in the past seven years since my body's gpomg to hell. I was javing quite an interesting dream when I awoke around 3:45, but I now remember none of it. When I fell back to sleep I dreamed I was at a concert in which John Mauceri played something I'd orchestrated. I was with one of my best college friends Matthew and some woman I did not recognize. After the concert I was to have dinner with Mauceri and Anthony Morelli's father, only I'd forgotten where.

Today I officially join the handicapped, and I will install a grab bar to my bathtub. I've gotten to the point where I cannot get in and out with some serious help.

Kitty cleanup over and bed made, I've finished my devotional listening and I've moved to to Bryn Terfel's wonderful album of English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh folk songs with beautiful arrangements by Chris Hazell, who also worked on his marvelous Christmas album, which contains Thatch's favorite, "Mary's Boy Child."

James Darren and Robert Cobert have joined Robin Hood's Merry Men and are trying to get the king to sign the Magna Carta....I think Time Tunnel has mixed history up a bit.....

I was just about to post that I once worked on a second-rate musical, Magna Carta (which I called Lion In Winter Lite), and Robin Hood's King John signed it.

I woke WAY too early this morning -- like, about 4:00 a.m. -- when I had actually set the alarm for 7:00.

And with nary an interesting dream to recall.

Oh well.

Soon I must begin getting ready to go to Bedford Village, NY, for a long afternoon of Spartacus.

That, I know, will be most satisfying.

Afterwards, at 7:00 this evening, we have an auditioner to hear, in hopes of filling the one open slot of Wreck the Halls. Pray for that baby.

It's gratifying to hear that BK is enjoying the Steber/Tucker/Met recordings. Those are a treasure, and her voice indeed was something very special.

For me, both of their singing styles are right up there. I was privileged to have seen and heard Tucker in two of our concert opera productions in Cleveland and one at Meadow Brook, and Steber on any number of occasions. I wish I could have those days back.

Sunday morning greetings!  Just checking in to say HI and let you know that Richard and I are OK.  I'm involved this weekend in a virtual card making event with my sister, my niece, and 2000 crafters from all over the world.  It's been nice to have a purposeful distraction while dealing with Covid.

Hello everyone.....very fun new Broadway Radio Show is now up on the site.  The wonderful Maxine Linehan is back to chat about her new live album What Would Petula Do? -- her homage to Petula Clark recorded live in Paris.  It's a great new album and Maxine is always fun to talk to.

Bruce you can thank Covid for the reason your Pepcid is locked up:

"Common heartburn medication is going out of stock in popular US pharmacies
Major retailers such as Amazon, Walgreens appear to be experiencing shortages
Comes after doctors in China discovered that those over 80 with heartburn issues and used Pepcid had a higher coronavirus survival than those using pricier drug Prilosec
Pepcid contains famotidine and Prilosec contains omeprazole
Scientists suspect that in COVID-19, famotidine binds to the papainlike protease which helps pathogens replicate in the body and stops them replicating
Northwell Health has been injecting patients in New York with famotidine"

The reason for the study is interesting:

"In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors in Wuhan, China, noticed something surprising. Many of the elderly patients who survived the virus were poor – not exactly the demographic you would expect to fare well in a health crisis.

A review of the survivors’ medical records revealed that a significant number suffered from chronic heartburn and were taking an inexpensive drug called famotidine, the key ingredient in Pepcid. (Wealthier patients tended to take the more costly drug omeprazole, found in Prilosec.)"
