Sunday afternoon greetings!  I slept until after 9am, which is very late for me.  When Richard got up, we had a nice Dutch baby and bacon breakfast.  I'm now showered and dressed, puttering in my Momcave with the Bengals game on in the background.

I've spent the past hour closing my 2021 calendar and income files and creating new ones for 2022. Before that I took a Tizanidine and it knocked me out for several hours while Christmas music accompanied my comatose state.

Watching One Night in Miami. Excellent acting, especially from Leslie Odom Jr. Competent direction. So, why is it not better? I think the script is just not all that it should be.

I just had a lovely email exchange with my middle-school music teacher, who turns 91 today. She was really special, and very formative to me. I am glad I had a chance to tell her this.

Wow, this is very special.

I worried a great deal about retirement and how i would make ends meet.  Of course, coming back to SC was a no-brainer because my mother's house was in my name, so I would have no rent.  We were sharing expenses.

But...my fears were way overblown.  My retirement works very nicely down here.

You had a "Dutch baby and bacon breakfast"?  I'm sure that's more innocent that it seems on face value?

I am glad it is working nicely, as well as having the time to settle in and spend time with your mother before you lost her.

A Dutch baby is an eggy popover-type pancake that you bake in a cast iron skillet.  It was delicious.

I have wanted to try the series Manifest. I think both DR Ron Pulliam and DR TCB have mentioned it.

I watched most of the first season and really enjoyed it, too.

It’s now 29 degrees outside. When I went out, it was 66.

Yikes! :o

I have only had them at the Original Pancake House, and yes they are delicious.

Listening to Donald's show. I realize I only have one CD in his top 15. Odd year of recordings to match an odd year.

You have me beat...I don't have any of them. :-\

DR Jane, thank you for posting those pictures!  We just had ours with warm maple syrup, but next time I might make something like the apple filling in your second photo.

Not a sports story. But a great story nonetheless.

Let me know if you can't read it.

Amazing story!

DR Ginny the descriptions for the two are a bit different (see below).  I think an apple filling on the Dutch Baby would be good.

"The Dutch Baby, an air filled delight oven baked to golden perfection and served with lemon, whipped butter and powdered sugar to create a mouthwatering blend.

the Apple Pancake, a single large pancake smothered with sautéed apples and cinnamon sugar baked to perfection, to create a deliciously rich cinnamon sugar glaze."
