For some reason, I started feeling a bit under the weather last night.  I got congested, and my throat became scratchy.  Going to bed at a reasonable hour became undoable.

My solution was to have a piping hot cup of peppermint tea and to listen to some Georges Delerue music.  That music selection was a suite from his score to "Steel Magnolias".

It was around 2:10 a.m. when I finally settled in.  And then I slept the sleep of the dead!!

I awakened a little after 9 a.m.  I think I could have slept later except that i needed to clear out the congestion with several strong bouts of hacking and coughing.

That didn't take too long, unpleasant as it sounds.  Now, I am simply apathetic about doing anything remotely worthwhile for the rest of the day.

I have a birthday party to attend tomorrow evening.

It is the first birthday of Miss Audrey James Moore, a 2nd cousin.  She is a sweet little girl, and her parents felt the need to rent a nice venue and invite tons of family and friends to celebrate.  The reason, I guess, is because they both work full-time and Audrey is in the care of her grandmother (my 1st cousin Debra) during the week.  Many family members have yet to see her in person, so the idea was to do a get-together for the event.

I doubt Audrey will get any appreciation out of it...but her parents will.

My fear is that the event will be a super-spreader.  I daresay few, if any other than myself, will wear masks.

I hope I am mistaken.

I need my first cup of coffee for the day.  I truly do need it.

And i have a mild curiosity about what might await me at the post office.  I hope for the one last tax statement from an annuity that will complete all my documents for the previous tax year.  Then I can visit my CPA on Monday to start the blood-letting.

My ride should be here in around 20 minutes. I'm dressed and ready to go.

DR John I love your hair.  Do you mostly wear it like that or tie it in a ponytail?  Craig wore his pandemic hair tied back but then he cut it before returning to in class teaching.

Both. If I’m out, it’s usually tied back. But at home it’s loose.

Bloody Marys are judged. Who likes sweet Bloody Marys? There were three or four our of 11 with a definite taste of sugar. Dreadful.

Access-a-Ride was late again today by 30 minutes. I'm glad to be home.

Well, Kaiser's website says that they don't do Covid testing unless you need it for surgery, or some other important event.  Going back to work didn't qualify. ::)

So, I was able to make an appointment to get a PCR test by a company that has a kiosk/trailer downtown.

I should get the results back in 1 to 2 days.  Hopefully, that's actual days and not business days.  I'd like to go back to work on Monday.

I think we have gotten all of the s**w we are scheduled for and it is moving East.

In a few minutes I will be logging in to attend the Vermont wedding.  There are only two family members from Garrett's family - his mom & dad - and quite a large number of those from Tara's family there.

If it had been here in Indiana, I am sure we could have outnumbered them easily.

The two latest Kritzerland releases have landed in the Midwest.  Guess I won't have to file a PayPal dispute.      :)

DR Ron Pulliam - are not the child's parents concerned about giving COVID to their child, when said child can't yet be vaccinated?  Sounds dicey to me.

No, they aren't at all convinced that Covid19 is actually real.  I have heard them expound upon it ad nauseum.  I love them, but they are stupid.

They also believe Trump won the election and that the Democrats somehow STOLE red states from him, despite the virtual unlikelihood of that happening at all. That would make Republicans complicit in the steal, wouldn't it?

I keep waiting for Democrats to start challenging how Trump possibly got 70 million votes.  THAT should be the real story of criminality for 2020.
