I think King Kong was a game changer, certainly. I think Alex North's Streetcar was a huge game changer that was then picked up by Mr. Bernstein with Man With the Golden Arm, which also was very influential. Psycho was hugely influential. You could take the position that Star Wars was influential were it not just a throwback to Mr. Korngold. I think Goldsmith's Planet of the Apes was influential in its way. And Bernstein's To Kill a Mockingbird. And agreed about The Big Country - hugely influential on western scores that followed. And speaking of western scores, Morricone changed that ball game pretty well.
