I will remind DR GEORGE and DR TCB that their first rehearsal is tomorrow night at 7 p.m. EST.

DR GEORGE is playing Naphtali and DR TCB is playing Dan.  We will be learning the music to & blocking "Joseph's Dreams" and "Poor, Poor Joseph."

I want to see that production.

Had work-related dreams. Have to go back tomorrow. But tomorrow will not be a normal work day. It’s the 100th anniversary of USAA.

My TOD - what is the most surprising outcome of an internet purchase you have made?

I bought a book of reviews of 1950's musicals from a third party Amazon seller.....when I got it, I looked inside and on the first page was handwritten:

"From the library of Arthur Laurents..." with his phone number.

I didn't try to call him because by the time I bought the book, he was busy being dead.

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day to everyone!  There's a new Broadway Radio Show up for your listening enjoyment.  I chat with author Margaret Hall about her brand new book GEMIGNANI: Life and Lessons from Broadway and Beyond.  She worked closely with legendary music director Paul Gemignani on this authorized biography that is a must read for anything theatre lover.  Check it out:

Lots of activities and musical guests. I don’t know if they’ve announced anyone yet. One guess was George Strait since he lives in town.

When I got home yesterday, there was a 100th anniversary package in the mail. It included a Cross pen and a commemorative notebook.

Didn’t get to sleep until 2:30. Woke at around six, then seven, then eight, and still said No Way. Suddenly I was coming out of a weird dream, which I haven’t yet reassembled in my li’l brain, and it was 9:30. THAT finally felt pretty good, and here I am.

That’s a great book find, DR Jrand71. I bought a book of W.H. Auden at a library sale, then later discovered Auden’s signature in it. I know I’ve had similar fun on an eBay purchase or two, but can’t think what they are just now.

Surprising in the opposite way: I ordered a copy of Zola’s La Bete Humaine, which is the English title as well as the French, and got a copy in French.

We had monsoon rain during the night.  It doesn't rain in June here. We did have an unusual storm a few years ago that was actually hurricane remnants from Mexico, but that wasn't a monsoon storm.

I have never in my life seen a monsoon storm in June. Ever.

So last night at about 8:45 or so, I reclined in my recliner, intending to just take a little nap...and I woke up this morning at 7:30! :o

This has been an aggravating morning. I needed to update my debit card for Netflix, only it won't go through and neither phone nor online chat is currently available. Then I looked for my DVD of Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears and I cannot find it.

Damn!

Starting a pandemic novel called The End of Men. Written before but published after covid-19, it deals with a virus that kills only men. It’s really engrossing.
