DR Rodzinski, I am curious why you thought the prescription was ready and waiting for you.

I have my prescriptions at our local Rite Aid. I like the pharmacists there so I plan to keep them there for a while, but definitely have been looking at where to move them since I'm sure that store isn't long for this world. I'm wondering if another pharmacy chain will take over that location, but both likely candidates (Walgreen's and CVS) have had their own financial issues, so probably not.

From DR George:

And, of course, she had the best song in the TV version of It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman!

Even though I skipped much of it due to lack of time to watch, I enjoyed seeing Loretta Switt.  Thank you.

Grilled porterhouse steak for me, please, either medium-rare or rare, plain with maybe a little dab of olive oil and garlic. Steak au poivre is excellent too, and fun to make with the flames going off from lighting the whiskey. And either a California Cabernet or a Bordeaux to drink.

When I read your note the first thing I thought is doing an expose on this in our pages. I mean, when I was a kid I read about how her embalming was such a huge, involved deal, her body was preserved for years. It’s a cool bit of history. Why dumb that down?

Do the exposé! We'll blow this thing wide open.  :)

DR MichealG, one of our two Rite-Aids closed within the past few weeks, and I believe the other is scheduled to be closing as we speak.

Now I wish I had used the one near me. It was a nicer store than the Walgreen's and CVS I've been patronizing. Too late, though.

I've rescheduled the shingles vax for next Thursday.

They normally take weekend appointments, but their website says no vaccinations today or tomorrow, so maybe they're short-handed. I think I've known that to happen before.

DR Jeanne, I ended up tossing my bottle of Ivizia before I finished it.  I liked it at well enough at first, especially if I was wearing make-up, but after awhile the drops didn't feel good.  BioTrue are still my current favorite, still I need to alternate them with other drops.

I always liked the Rite Aid store in Ashland.  When I first read they were closing stores I looked to see if it was still open.  At the time yes.

We now get our prescriptions and vaccinations at Fred Meyer.  Since they are part of the Kroger chain I think we are ok.  I hope so.

From DR Rodzinski:

Quote
Had a nice moment today. I profiled Richard Moylan in our latest issue, retiring after 40 years as president of Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.

He wrote me personally today to say how much he loved the article.

That's very nice, especially since he usually find fault with things.

Also a Dutch guy I interviewed about his cremation metal recycling company was equally over the moon about my profile.

Again, very nice.

Rodzinski, did you see the New York Times "New York Today" article about Mr. Moylan's successor?  (The article, of course, discusses Mr. Moylan a bit.)

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/22/nyregion/green-wood-cemetery-meera-joshi.html
"NEW YORK TODAY
Goodbye, City Hall. Hello, Green-Wood Cemetery.
Meera Joshi, former deputy mayor for Eric Adams, is taking a new job with the famous Brooklyn burial ground."

George must REALLY be painting the town and going the way of all flesh, if you get my meaning, which I'm sure you do.

After last night's opening night, I didn't get home until about 11:30.  I was pretty beat and just needed to get to sleep...so I did.

The show went well.  The audience wasn't filled (probably 3/4ths filled), but they thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Was waiting to hear about opening night but apparently the town has been painted several different colors and George is still eating.

I would've liked to go out on the town, but no one else was, so I went home. :)

DR Laura, sad news about Asha. I'm so sorry. I cannot believe her original owner had her for 12 years ans gave her up because of his wife. I'd have kept the cat and lost the wife.

I know quite a few people who would not get into a relationship with someone who didn't like their pet(s).

Last night's op'nin' of Moon Over Buffalo was everything an op'nin' should be. She's got a perfect cast, set, costume design, and tech support. To these eyes and ears, it was flawless from beginning to end. Right out of the starting gate. With perfect flow and timing on everything, which Ms. Canova must have learned ... somewhere. 8)

A delightful evening of theeder, and how great to be sitting in the audience again. Maybe I'll go back before it closes. It's a four-weekend run.

That's great, ChasSmith!
