But the movie was an hour and a half, as well, and - to the best of my memory of that - this was a faithful adaptation from that. Hence, a one-act. I don't remember if the musical component was in the film. I have it here, so I should check it out again.And that brings us to my one criticism of the movie (and now the play) itself. It's a superb subject and I love how everything is portrayed, but there's something lacking in the script or in character development. It just kind of starts at one point and ends at another, whereas a fleshed out two-act play, or a more fleshed-out film, would surely involve some more detail or ... juice. I don't know how to get to what I'm after here, but maybe that makes a little bit of sense.
