Buy Me That Town was a fun flick. Lloyd Nolan always solid as a gangster with a soft heart who buys an unincorporated village to use the jail as a lucrative boarding house for white collar criminals on the lam. He ends up making the town nicer and seeing the value of the straight life, thanks to Constance Moore.

Vera Vague is hilarious as a kind of gangster groupie and wannabe moll. Recommended.

We watched the show, which is based on a dystopian video game, because of Pedro Pascal.

The first season was excellent. Much of what made it good was the developing relationship between Pascal and the girl he rescues.

Season two-stop reading if you don't want spoilers.

Suddenly we have an extremely annoying teenager and their relationship has deteriated.  We read reviews to decide if we wanted to continue watching.  The opposite of killing off a charactor that was not killed in the books happened, they followed the game closely and killed Pascal's charactor.

There have been other shows we stopped watching, this is just the most recent one I can think of.

An interesting rendition of Verdi's "Anvil Chorus" by the Los Angeles Gay Men's Chorus.

A hit for Perry Como.

And then of course there was also the soothing sound of Perry Como singing the opening credits song for THE ODESSA FILE

The Odessa File had music by Andrew Lloyd Webber - one of his earlier credits

TOD: I watched Silicon Valley until the first season without TJ Miller. In the first episode the main character was repeating the same mistakes he's made throughout the series, having apparently learned nothing from recent experiences. The series as a whole had degraded since it's brilliant opening season, but that was the tipping point for me.

Then, to add to my misery, I slept poorly, and I had too many bathroom breaks. While I do love Annabelle and Thatch, I kept wishing Annabelle would do one of two things: either head up to her mountain chalet or move down the bed to her usual sleeping spot on the bed. And I forgot: at some poit during the night, Stella vomited on the floor, and I stepped in it during one of my bathroom breaks.

Oh, no! :P

Would keeping some kind of "pee bucket" near the bed help the situation, maybe one with a cover so that the cats won't knock it over?

Or jump in. ::) I was just going to suggest that, too.

This ad from the latest edition of the AARP magazine advises me that I should not attempt to lift my wheelchair over my head.

In related matters: AARP is also offering free streaming of the musical BONNIE AND CLYDE.

I wonder if I'm old enough to join. ;)

Kind of a drag… when your baby don’t love you…

There's also "A Real Slow Drag" from Treemonisha

Nice.  There's also a musical called The Slow Drag, starring Larry's close and personal friend, Kim Criswell!
