Well, Amazon Fresh arrived in mostly fine fettle: they over-pack the bags so I've got smashed bread and crushed boxes of cereal. To top things off, while I was struggling to get the bags from the hall to my tiny foyer, Stella escaped, got lost in the corridors, and I had to take the walker and go in search of her. I found her on the second floor.

Last night I watched for the first time in maybe 30 years the fantastic 1985 film Dreamchild, with a wonderful Dennis Potter screenplay, about the trip to New York that Alice Liddell Hargreaves took in 1932, at age 80, for the Columbia University centennial celebration of the birth of Lewis Carroll. Her memories center on the fantastic, fierce, often frightening creatures of Wonderland (courtesy of Jim Henson), where both the young Alice and the old lady interact in her memories and her final realization that Carroll's affection was sublimated love. There's a wonderful moment from 1862 when Jane Asher, playing Mrs Liddell, realizes what's going on.

The cast, 72 year-old Coral Browne as Mrs Hargreaves, Ian Holm as Lewis Carroll, Peter Gallagher as a New York reporter, are wonderful, and the film is truly glorious.

Back in 1985, "72 year-old Coral Browne" seemed quite old.  Somehow, my perspective on that has changed.

But that's tomorrow, not today. Today is for projects like giving the musical equipment a good cleaning, scanning some color slides for Vintage L.A. on Facebook, shopping for some fun food and drink, and settling down into watching something good or a couple of somethings good this evening.

What do you use to scan slides?

I tried not taking either Claritin-D or Mucinex-D - apparently not a good idea.

Furthermore, I think the potato salad was eaten too late in the evening. It has some spice in it that my body can't tolerate that late and it got into my throat while sleeping causing that burning throat thing when bile comes up. I'm hoping that will go away soon. It's caused a lot of gunk and spitting said gunk up - most disgusting.

Whilst up, I placed an order for more Ricola from Amazon same day - should be here between ten and three. I had a couple left, thankfully. I'm sipping 7-Up in hopes that will calm the burning. Ironically, my voice seems okay.

DR FREDDIE yes he was very good.

He listened to my directions and followed them. The character is very much like him but he liked my Luggage Theory of acting and understood how to make it work.

I was very pleased with his performance.
