Well, Thursday was the birthday if my friend Shelly, and yesterday, we went to a local garden shop and I bought her a Boston fern for her birthday...it's what she has wanted for a long time AND they were half priced!

You lucked out ;)

Shelly doesn't really have anymore family, so she's become friends with my sister and niece and my mom, so we're going to have a barbecue to celebrate.

It is nice for her to have a second family, and I'm sure everyone is happier for it.

Jane asked, "Has your psoriasis gotten worse?"

No, fortunately.  I think I just might have the option to go on Humera and have them pay for it.  I'll find out more when I find out more. ;)

I'm glad it hasn't gotten worse.

After a well-plotted season one of THE GILDED AGE, and communications by delivered letters  so well-documented by letters going back and forth efficiently all season: the season one finale featured such an oh-come-on coincidence regarding the young leading lady and the lawyer fellow she was just about to run off and marry.

For other shows that I've loved (writers of THE RECRUIT, I'm thinking of you and your wacky irrational plot turns), it might have been consistent  - But it just wasn't worthy of the excellent plotting we'd come to expect from Julian Fellowes as a writer, yet the lulu of a coincidence was so crucial to where season one ended pointing to season two.

I actually quit my job and took some time to look for a job, then not do any job searching, but I'm officially drawing my retirement, so I have all the time in the world. :) This means I did retire earlier than normal, but the pay difference really isn't that much and it definitely was worth it.  I just got in a rut at work and couldn't get out, so I left.  But my mortgage and car are paid off, so I really don't have a lot of expenses.

Wow!  I just thought you were taking more overdue vacation days.  I did not pick up on the fact that you haven't talked about work.  When did you actually retire from your job?

DR George!  Had we heard that job news from you before?  Congratulations!

Thanks, Ginny!  No, I (and I still don't know why) didn't mention it.

Barstools aren't arriving today because - they haven't even picked them up - apparently, the tracking number was created on Wednesday when I ordered them. But apparently Wayfair didn't communicate with Fed Ex or Fed Ex didn't bother communicating with Fed Ex so the latter didn't know if they were supposed to pick it up or if Wayfair would bring it, to which I say, boys, pick up the damn phone and figure it out rather than letting it sit there. The nice lady I was talking to understood my frustration and she's escalated the whole thing with Fed Ex and internally, but Fed Ex refuses to give a delivery date until they have the package, to which, if I were on the phone with them, would say well, go pick it up NOW. We then had to reschedule the assembly people and we did that in the nick of time because if you cancel less than twenty-four hours they charge you twenty-five bucks. We scheduled the assembly for next Saturday. If it still hasn't been picked up by Wednesday I'll need an immediate refund.

This sounds rather typical to me.  You are given a tracking number once the order goes through, and then the space of time varies between the time you receive the tracking number and when the item is actually collected,  though this one does seem longer than usual.

I usually give the tracking number a couple of days and then begin watching to see that the item has actually been picked up.

I started my new Rx today, which may be the reason for my sleepiness.  Or maybe it was caffeine deprivation - no coffee on today’s “brunch” menu.

Even though I don't drink coffee it seems it is usually offered at events where there is food.

BK, is someone going to mention and link "Richard and Me" on castrecl at some point, or is castrecl maybe not relevant to your book audience, or some other thing?

Hopefully!  We can't get into the space until 2:00 pm on the day of, then we have to load in and set up everything, do a sound check, run a few things, then run the show.

Well, I quit...longer ago than I care to admit ::) but I just started drawing retirement March 31st.  That will be, of course, for the rest of my life.

Until later!

I don't know people on castrecl well enough to ask them. Are you on there? Can you do it? It's relevant because the Sherman Brothers wrote two big musicals - Over Here and Busker Alley.
