This is such an interesting way of looking at, or maybe looking toward, retirement that I saw in Quora. Clearly not everyone's outlook, but it was this teacher's outlook:
"As year 5 of retirement begins with the start of the new school year, I continue to experience a most profound thought each morning when I arise…I don’t HAVE to do anything today, just what I want to do. All options and no obligations. Not sure you can appreciate that feeling when you’re young. Took me four and a half decades of hard work to reach than mental state.
Everyone should work as long as they want. Such a personal, individual decision and honestly, not for everyone. But, Oh the places you may go when it comes. Such as, into the kitchen to absolutely have fun playing with food…"
