This is such an interesting way of looking at, or maybe looking toward, retirement that I saw in Quora.  Clearly not everyone's outlook, but it was this teacher's outlook:

"As year 5 of retirement begins with the start of the new school year, I continue to experience a most profound thought each morning when I arise…I don’t HAVE to do anything today, just what I want to do. All options and no obligations. Not sure you can appreciate that feeling when you’re young. Took me four and a half decades of hard work to reach than mental state.

Everyone should work as long as they want. Such a personal, individual decision and honestly, not for everyone. But, Oh the places you may go when it comes. Such as, into the kitchen to absolutely have fun playing with food…"

And just dove into proofing, after sending out an eBlast about A Boy Named Charlie Brown, which is now live again at Kritzerland.

I then posted about Charlie on some of the theater groups. We've gotten about forty orders so far - not bad.

As I suspected, proofing the final twenty pages is utter insanity.

She was so bored or impatient to be done with it, there isn't even a semblance of coherence or care about punctuation and clarity. There are six mistakes in every SENTENCE. Run-ons go on and on and on and on and on. Fixing each of those and trying to have it make sense is just so time consuming.

BK - One of the castrecl-ers wrote to me that there's a much simpler link to the Amazon page for "Richard and Me," if anyone needs the simpler link.

That west coast gasoline pricing is outta sight, man. Of course we think ours is, too, based on the past. But yikes! How do y'all live with that?

Yesterday I saw that our local BJ's price had suddenly jumped a nickel from the previous day. Usually it goes up and down in one- or two-cent increments. But: a nickel. That means something's afoot and more could be coming. It also puts us in near-$3.00 territory again, at $2.94 (or fifteen cents less if you're vixmom).

Washington state has some of the highest gas prices in the country.  There are a lot of sales taxes attached to gas sales.

Yup.

I got a suction cup grab bar for the shower as added insurance. This is a pretty expensive one. It is of very good quality and works great.

Has anyone here ever cooked them with potato nails? They're supposed to transfer the heat to the inner part of the potato. Don't know if they really work or if they make a difference.
