Have we discussed the verified fact that Cissy Houston named her daughter Whitney after Whitney Blake?

Whitney Blake was a co-creator of One Day At a Time. The things you learn!

I've figured Bonnie Franklin's character Ann Romano was based on her.

This is what Wikipedia says:

"The series was created by Whitney Blake and Allan Manings, a husband-and-wife writing duo who had both been actors in the 1950s and 1960s. The series was based on Whitney Blake's own life as a single mother raising her three children (including future actress Meredith Baxter) after her divorce from her first husband"

I'm up, I'm up - maybe five, maybe six hours. I could have done ten or eleven were it not for the morons next door doing heaven knows what at eleven in the morning - tree trimming is my guess. I'd like to go over there and commit mayhem.

Then I get up and - they stop. If I go back to bed - they'll start.

Guess what I'm eating!

My third large helping of it, and I swear (I really do), the damned chilling/serving dish still looks full.   :)

This is on Whitney Blake's wikipedia page:

"Singer Whitney Houston (1963–2012) was named after [Whitney] Blake, as stated in the 2018 documentary Whitney."

TOD

I can still basically eat anything I want. BUT --

I may have identified a slight tendency toward being lactose intolerant -- if I seriously overdo the eating or drinking of a suspect item.

Also, outright bing(e)ing - especially hurriedly - on a lot of food of any type. Like, to the point where you feel horribly bloated and there's no other word for it.

Either of these things CAN have a predictable delayed or not-so-delayed reaction. Not always, but it can happen. I'm learning to keep an eye on these habits and am getting better at stopping when I should.

That having been said, I need more of this tuna pasta salad. I hadn't eaten much yet today. Back later.

Looking at IMDB, I'm also wondering how long she was a single mother.

 Spouses
Allan Manings(August 24, 1968 - September 28, 2002) (her death)
Jack Fields(April 6, 1957 - April 1967) (divorced)
John Thomas Baxter Jr.(April 1944 - January 19, 1956) (divorced, 3 children)

As I've grown older, I have become lactose intolerant, which wreaked havoc on my ice cream and cereal consumption.

My friend David (who is only in his early 40s) only recently became lactose intolerant.  He also loved ice cream and cheese. :-\

But he said that Lactaid really helps, as long as he takes it soon enough before eating dairy.

This time I can make it. I think.

A possible song cue for

David Naughton singing MAKIN' IT

I've always liked that song. :)

TOD: Fresh tomatoes. I still love the good ones, but too many, especially raw, causes too much heartburn.

So of course, this year we have a super bumper crop of tomatoes. We've never had plants this productive before.

We had the dancers for last night's initial tech rehearsal, so we got to practice the orgy scene again. Hooray! It was looking good, so we don't see them again until Monday's piano dress rehearsal.

This show has more complicated tech than usual, so it's a good thing we have a long tech rehearsal today. Act III in particular really needs it.
