There were no rocks poking through the bottom of the boots this time!

Oh my, you really did need new boots.  No blisters then as you break them in?

Bright Leaf is about cigarette manufacturing. Not very PC these days.

And I guess it’s more southern than western.

Thirty minutes ago, YouTube went completely down, functioning-wise. You can go there but no videos load and nothing works. No statement yet from anyone. Affecting everyone.

YouTube is now back!

Donald Crisp was a wonderful character actor.

From the dated to the ridiculous: Step Up with Channing Tatum. The dancing is good.

Back from callbacks. We're gonna talk to the two people I liked from last night and see if they could give us three hours in the daytime rather than night. If so, then I can cast them. That would give me everyone except the boys for the ensemble.

Well, not one of the leads, unless the guy I offered it to wants to do it - if he does, and we work it out with the others who are in the play before us, then we'll have a wonderful cast.

My copy of Love Life has been delayed again.

Mine too. I expect the problem is with the label / exporter / importer rather than with Amazon. This is the first time I've order an imported CD since all the tariff nonsense.

It's overall a good recording, but Stephanie Corley isn't close to being as good as Kate Baldwin in the role of Susan. She's OK except for her weird accents, but Baldwin was great.

Given how shaky the madrigal singers are on "Ho, Billy O," I see why Encores cut it. Plus I suspect the show works better dramatically without it clogging up the start of the second act.

Quirijn de Lang does a fine job as Sam. I think I prefer Brian Stokes Mitchell in this role, but it's hard to compare the live performance vs the recording when it's this close.

We just got back from a brush-up rehearsal for Samson et Dalila where we run through the music with piano. All went well, and we did Act 3 before Act 2 so the chorus could leave earlier.

The only review I've seen so far was good but not great, and didn't mention the chorus at all. But several of our regular reviewers are yet to chime in.

I saw a Starfighter reading at some point at a theatre space somewhere. Then I saw the full festival Brain production on 42nd Street.

Was that the Last Starfighter reading with BK?

Not sure. I can kinda remember where it was but not who else was there.

Was it in a rehearsal studio with wooden bleachers?

Were actors holding scripts?

Yes, wooden bleachers and wooden… boxes? As sets? Yes, on book, I believe.

In an office building on West 43rd Street near 8th?

If so, that would mean you saw the reading that BK co-starred in!

Well, this is an exciting Criterion January release. I loved this film!

Is this a movie version of James Joyce's The Dead?
