Well the notes were very interesting.'

I  think each Dear Reader with newspapers.com should do the same when a birthday approaches.

Well I watched the new Downton Abbey movie and was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

It took me a bit to get used to how OLD everyone is looking....and of course the story was typically full of impossible to overcome obstacles that were nonetheless overcome...but it was nice.

And the face of the man playing Noel Coward was a great improvement on the face of the actual NC.

My Thanksgiving dinner will consist of: turkey and stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, corn puddin', funeral potatoes, mac and cheese, buttered corn, roasted gnocchi with carrots, and pumpkin dump cake.

Or if my DIL has to work and they don't come over: turkey and stuffing and gravy, roasted gnocchi with carrots

No point making their favorite sides if they aren't coming. The gnocchi will be for Aunt Sassy.

I have to cook the turkey. It's in the fridge defrosting.

Well, um, HBO Max's six-part series about a romance between rival gay hockey players looks like it could be interesting.

The Hollywood Reporter review gets right to the point.

"‘Heated Rivalry’ Review: HBO Max’s Horny Hockey Drama Is a Playful Gay Romance for Grown-Ups
'Letterkenny' co-creator Jacob Tierney wrote and directed the six-part series about a pair of rising hockey stars who fall into a steamy affair."

Looks like BLUE MOON is available for rental or buying on a streaming channel.

The price is not cheap yet; renting it is $19.99 at this point.

I enjoyed it too for many of the same reasons. Sad and yet time marches on.

Before I do, the Anthony Perkins' directed production of Angel Street at Playhouse in the Park was April 1971. It starred Roni Dengel, Bill Moor, Jack Gwilliam, Pamela Simpson, Barbette Tweed. Tickets were six dollars. If you wanted to see a movie, playing were Cold Turkey, Husbands, Gimme Shelter, Trash, THX 1138, Tora, Tora, Tora, Song of Norway, The Night Visitor, A New Leaf, Little Big Man, Ryan's Daughter, Love Story, Little Murders, The Last Valley, and quite a few sleazy horror movies on triple bills. On April 2 you could attend a special sneak preview, one showing only, rated GP. While the film isn't named, it is from Warner Bros. and directed by T.C. Frank - so - Billy Jack.

Are you considering any other dates?

I'd be available Monday evening, Dec. 1.

Interesting film from the year of my birth, in fact still playing on the day of my birth at my beloved Stadium Theater. I'm surprised I didn't demand to leave the hospital so I could go see it.

HOPEFULLY, the appliances that my mom bought for her rental house here in Tumwater will actually be delivered today!  They were cancelled and rescheduled TWICE already. :P We didn't cancell or reschedule them.  It was done by The Home Depot without any reasons.

Good luck they are finally delivered today.

When I was rudely awakened by my alarm this morning, I felt like I'd truly been run over by a slow moving freight train. And for no good reason. Isn't it aggravating when it's for no damned good reason? I was perfectly good last night and went to sleep at a decent hour. I did have the Doris Day movies playing softly in the background, maybe I stayed awake longer than I'm remembering.

I hate that feeling.  I hope you improve during the day.

We're having a low-keyed Thanksgiving Day this year in comparison with some years. With the work on the laundry room being finished today, and delivery of the new machines on Friday, and stuff scattered all about because of the work, the house is something of a horror show. But our schedules have been ridiculous, too, and we're going to keep cooking to a minimum and just enjoy a peaceful day.

Enjoy a relaxing Thanksgiving.
