I was able to get a table at nearby El Torito for their Thanksgiving buffet thing, which dear reader Jeanne and I have done and I was hoping she'd come up but she's not up to it. Trying to find someone who's not doing anything, otherwise I'll change it to just me and go over there at three.

I am sorry she is not up to it.

I cancelled the Wechters - the thought of a forty-minute drive each way was not appealing when I'm this trashed.

So sorry, BK.

Can't find anyone to go, so I'll be there on my own. That's fine, too.

Thanks DR FREDDIE.

It was the Costner version DR RODZINSKI.

No story RE: Sam Butera. He had a band/group called The Witnesses....and they toured and were in a couple of Sam Katzman spectaculars.

They also did a lot of work with Keely Smith & Louis Prima.

LOL, my mind went to wondering if there was some legally checkered thing then!  :)

George, that was a helluva adventure. Did you leave the mysterious valve off?

Thanks, Rodzinski!  It really was!  And actually, I left the water on.  When my mom has the city people come out, I want to see how they do it so that I can do it correctly in the future, if necessary.

No one knew where our water shutoff valve was when we moved in here. There is a  main curbside one, but you really want to use one at the house. I was able to find it in the deep recesses of our crawlspace, which, luckily, is more of a walking-around space. I hope your mom’s place has one other than the street one.

I was wondering about that too, but in the moment, we couldn't find anything else in the house.  I'll go back when it's earlier in the day and look around some more.

George, your story about the appliances at your mom's house in last night's posts was really interesting!

Thanks, Freddie.  Hopefully, never to be repeated! ::)

DR George, I loved your appliance tale; I almost thought our DR vixmom had returned to us.

Thanks, Larry!  I tried to tell a tale worth reading. ;D

I had a weird night of sleep / no sleep. At 10 pm I was ready to call it a night, having had a very active and hectic day. I turned off the light and fell asleep in pretty short order. I woke up, thinking it was nearly morning... at 11:17 pm. Lordy. Then back to sleep, again waking briefly a couple more times, until 2:48 when I got up to use the necessary. And then... and then... I lay there wide awake... until sometime after 5:00 am when I mercifully fell asleep and finally awoke at 8:00 am.

Yikes!  I hate it when that happens.

Jen and Ann brought me a Thanksgiving dinner: stuffing, loads of turkey, mashed potatoes, turkey soup, and apple pie. The portions are huge, and the best part? Instead of green beans, carrots, which I love. There's enough here for dinner tomorrow as well.

Ann Hampton Calkaway performed a concert at the Washington Center years ago.  I helped sell her CDs afterward and as a thank you, she gave me (and autographed) a CD:
