TIME IS A FLEETING MISTRESS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, for those of you who do not live in Los Angeles, California, you will be happy to know that it is quite gray and chilly out and the sun is nowhere to be seen. Last night, just as I was about to leave for Mr. Grant Geissman’s house to print the demos to CD, he called and told me he was in a session that was running late – so, I’ll be doing it tonight. Today, I shall be lunching with dear reader Mark Rothman (Macchus). Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Last evening, since I was home, I watched the DVD of Mr. Francois Truffaut’s lovely film La Peau Douce (The Soft Skin), starring the wonderful actor Jean Desailly and the incredibly beautiful Francois Dorleac. It gets a bit melodramatic at the end (I remember seeing it when it came out and the audience, even then, laughed in the wrong place at the end). The score, by Mr. Georges Delerue, is one of his best. It was such a tragedy to lose Miss Dorleac at such a young, young age (she died in an auto accident).

I am madly trying to do as much work as possible on my three projects before going to New York, New York this Sunday, so I shall keep these here notes short and succinct today. For those who’ve asked, we are planning to have our Unseemly Live Chat Live from New York on Sunday, at nine o’clock Eastern Mean Time, presuming I get in on time.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because time is a fleeting mistress. “Time is a fleeting mistress”? That is so poetic and florid, isn’t it? That just gave me goose bumps and also swan bumps. Oh, let’s click now before I go into paroxysms of ecstasy.

Too late – I have gone into paroxysms of ecstasy, whatever the hell that means. Now I’m having paroxysms of ecstasy whilst trying to type and it is very difficult I can assure you, and yet time, that fleeting mistress, cares not for paroxysms of ecstasy and it fleets on, damn its eyes. It is very difficult to type the words “paroxysms” and “ecstasy” over and over again. They keep coming out “parxoymss” and “esxtcytk”, although, that said, those are fine words as well.

Did you know, for example, that time is a fleeting mistress? I like my mistresses non-fleeting frankly, or even alanly. I like my mistresses to have parxysmoss of ecsasy and yet, time, that great leveler of all in its path, is a fleeting mistress. What the hell am I talking about?

Well, dear readers, I really must take the day, I really must do the things I do, I really must write, and rewrite and polish and also yugoslav. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask your excellent questions – so, ask away, dear readers, and whilst asking why don’t you have some paroxysms of ecstasy starring Hedy Lamarr? I shall return to check out your excellent questions, and feel free to discuss other things as well.
