THE PAST, THE PRESENT, AND THE FUTURE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must hurry and write these here notes because I must be on my way to our very own Donald Feltham’s house to tape a Broadway Radio Show show. We’ll be debuting tracks from our new CD, and the whole thing will be just too too or maybe even three three. Other than the radio show, I have absolutely no plans for the weekend, other than writing and eating and watching DVDs. Our Unseemly Live Chat will be on Sunday at six o’clock Pacific Mean Daylight Savings Time and if I were you (and I am) I’d be there or be round.

I finally got this show about water into reasonably good shape – I had to restructure the whole show, basically – move things around and rewrite voice-overs and get it to actually tell a little story with some forward momentum. Next week two more shows go into editing, and won’t that be a barrel of laughs?

Last night I supped with my pal Beth, who has written her very own version of Sweeney Todd. It, of course, is not a musical, and it is quite different, story-wise, to the Sondheim/Wheeler version. She actually gave me the script three weeks ago, but then she and a director friend had done some work on it, so tonight I’m getting the latest version. I feel that I would make a fine Sweeney Todd in this film, as I can empathize with a character who wants to slit the throat of someone he feels has done him wrong, oh, yes, I can empathize with that all right.

Keep sending those excellent Hainsies/Kimlets vibes, especially next Monday and Tuesday. Did you know that Lionel Hampton always had good vibes? We also had an unscheduled impromptu Unseemly Live Chat last night – it was quite fun, and the fur was flying fast and free. We might do more of these in the future. They will happen in the present but if you’re not around they will be a thing of the past. This is known as The Past, The Present and The Future Impromptu Unseemly Live Chat Thing (TPTPATFIULCT, in Internet lingo).

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’ve got a radio show to tape, don’t you know?

Today I shall be picking up the brand spanking new DVDs of All That Jazz, Chicago and Hello, Dolly! Also, an Ingmar Bergman trilogy from Criterion and a few other things. Warners is also reissuing Cabaret with new packaging, but most DVD sites are saying that it’s the same old sucky transfer, non-enhanced for widescreen TVs. That, however, is a bit unusual for Warners, so I’ve taken a wait and see attitude and also a see and wait attitude. Have you ever taken a wait and see attitude and, if so, did you put it back or did you just keep it? And if you kept it, were others left out in the cold, wait and see attitude-wise? What the hell am I talking about?

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must go hither and thither and to the city known as Glendale, I must tape a radio show, I must do errands, I must write and I must dine. I’m now going to Donald’s in the present, I shall be there in the future and when I’m done the taping will be in the past. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too? Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite museums, both art and history? Tell us about them, why don’t you? Also, for our newcomers, anyone who hasn’t done a roll call can do so. Now, let’s have loads of lovely posts and keep the weekend HHW spirit alive and well and living in HHWland.
