THE BUNNY HOP

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I have been doing the Bunny Hop all the livelong day and night. I haven’t had so much fun since doing the Limbo. I hope you’ve all been doing the Bunny Hop as well, for it is really the thing to do. I feel that this site is the leader of things to do. We point the way and others emulate us. For example, I wouldn’t be surprised if other people on other websites are suddenly doing the Bunny Hop. I think there will be Bunny Hop Fever. And all because we are the leaders of things to do. I know at least three other websites where they were doing the Limbo after we led the way. But those Limbo wannabes were merely following our trendsetting ways. I’ve also noticed at least two websites who have used the term “dear readers” of late. Who do they think they’re kidding? And now they will be Bunny Hopping and I’m quite certain that whilst they are Bunny Hopping they will be wearing their bunny slippers, their smoking jackets, their lounging pyjamas, and their spotted dickies. But, if you want to be in on the beginning of any trend, then this is the place to be. That is because we are hip, we are happening, we are now, we are groovy and ginchy, we are gear and fab, we are, in short, now. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Yesterday, I drove about in my motor car and did many errands. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and I had quite a lovely time of it. I then attended a dinner party given by my cousin Alan and his ever-lovin’ Dee Dee. Besides them, the only person I knew was my pal Nancy Lee. The other guests were all neighbors from their street. Their across the street neighbor Carol, and their down the street neighbors, Bob Gitt and Anthony Slide. Oh, and the final guest was a very nice gal who works on some hit CBS TV show that I’ve never heard of – something about King and Four Queen, or The King of Queens or something about The King. Apparently, this has been on the air for seven years, and yet I’ve never heard of it. It’s supposed to be a modern-day Honeymooners. I shall try to check it out one of these fine Wednesday nights. Bob Gitt is the head of the UCLA Film Preservation program and Anthony Slide is the author of many many excellent film history books. The party was ever so much fun, with lots of interesting conversation and many laughs. Dee Dee and Alan’s beloved dog Casey showed off by doing her many amazing tricks – all they have to do is say the name of one of Casey’s hundreds of toys, and Casey will go in the other room and find that exact toy and bring it out. We also learned that Casey likes to hump several of her toys, a nightly ritual which leaves Casey exhausted. For example, we were told that Casey likes to hump the long kitty. Well, who wouldn’t? Casey brought out the long kitty but did not hump it in front of strangers. Needless to say, I chose not to handle the long kitty. We had appetizers – some sort of artichoke thing that was most excellent. Dinner consisted of some kind of yummilicious soup, which was followed by Chicken Vesuvias, sweet and sour red cabbage and prunes, and a faboo corn pudding. It was all extremely tasty and it was followed by a Huguenot Torte with whipped cream. And, like the best of dinner parties, the hours flew by, filled with good food, good conversation, and lots of laughs. When someone told me it was eleven o’clock I was quite taken aback – we’d been there since six-thirty. All in all, a lovely time was had by all and I hope to see my new neighborhood chums again.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below whilst we Bunny Hop from here to eternity and hell and back.

Has anyone noticed that we are happening and now? Oh, and speaking of now, I’m happy to report that I know that today is Sunday. Given the confusion of the last few days, I think that is a good thing, don’t you?

This week, in between the Bunny Hop sessions, I shall be attending screenings at the DGA of all the DGA nominated films. Tomorrow night I shall be seeing Million Dollar Baby, directed by Mr. Cling Eatweood. Has anyone noticed that I just typed Mr. “Cling Eatweood” instead of Mr. Clint Eastwood? This is what happens when one writes these here notes when one is tired. Actually, I think Cling Eatweood is a fine name, don’t you?

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must do a spot of writing, I must do a spot of Bunny Hopping, I must do a spot of driving about in my motor car, and, most importantly, I must figure out what I wish to put inside of my hungry gaping maw. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you all get to choose the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings whilst we Bunny Hop and lead the way for others to follow.
