Well, dear readers, I have only two words to say to you this fine morning, and those two words are “gobble gobble.” Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, the two words I have to say to you are “gobble gobble,” not necessarily in that order. That is because today is a day for turkeys and I feel there are no finer turkeys on all the Internet than the turkeys right here at haineshisway.com. And why is it a day for turkeys? Why, that’s simple: Because it is Thanksgiving, a day for giving thanks. Many years ago, pilgrims came to this country. I just thought I’d throw that in – I have no idea what it means, other than I liked typing pilgrims in a sentence. I suppose the pilgrims had something to do with turkeys, but, you know, I didn’t care for history all that much in school. In any case, today is Thanksgiving, and we are going to have a partay all the livelong day and night. Yes, it’s our annual Thanksgiving do here at haineshisway.com. We will stuff ourselves silly with stuffing, and cranberry sauce, and rice pilaf, and pickled onions, and pickled beets, and pickled pickles. I’m sure some of us will BE pickled. We will have turkey galore – drumsticks, and white meat, and dark meat, oh, my. We will have pumpkin pie with whipped cream or, conversely, we will have whipped cream with pumpkin pie. And we will invoke the pilgrims repeatedly. Speaking of pilgrims, I had quite the busy day yesterday. At eleven, I met up with Miss Linden Waddell, and we blocked her number, The Girl That Men Go Mad For. It didn’t take long, and Linden will be her usual superb self. I then made a quick trip back to the Valley, where I had to do a few errands. Then I had to hie myself back to LACC to attend a production meeting and then a paper tech, both of which went well. Then I spent two hours with the teachers, running their number over and over again. They’re finally starting to “get” it, and it’s really fun watching it come together. I then rehearsed the big numbers and, despite having four people out (traveling for Thanksgiving), everyone did really well and the numbers are really starting to look sharp. We added in Micheal Goodrow to the finale from The Comedy of Errors – he was one of the original Dromios in our production. I finally got home at ten and had to eat, as I hadn’t had an iota of food all the livelong day and night. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?
Last night, I watched no motion pictures on DVD (well, truth be told, I started one), but over this weekend I will really be catching up on my DVD viewing.
Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button as we all say in unison – Gobble Gobble. On the count of three – one, two, three: GOBBLE GOBBLE!
I am in such a festively festive mood this day. I feel the holiday spirit. I feel the urge to sing a song about pilgrims, but I don’t know any. I feel the urge to prance about like a gazelle with a cranberry moustache.
Today, I shall not do much of anything. At some point around noon, I have to pick up the DVD of our Celebrity Clip Reel from Mr. David Wechter, but other than that, my day is mine. At five, I shall be joining the Jones’s for Thanksgiving Dinner. Prior to that, I hope to see at least two count them two motion pictures on DVD.
Have I mentioned the following two words? Gobble gobble? Have I mentioned the word pilgrim? Have I mentioned the fact that gobble gobble is elbbog ellbog spelled backwards?
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, celebrate Thanksgiving, and I must give thanks that so many beautiful people hang out here at haineshisway.com, and I must also give thanks that I am working with lovely people, and I must also give thanks that in time the real turkeys will all really get stuffed. Today’s topic of discussion: Simple – what is your favorite Thanksgiving story or memory? What is your all-time favorite Thanksgiving that you’ve ever spent? On which Thanksgiving did you eat more than any other Thanksgiving? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we all stand at attention and say, Gobble Gobble.
