A MONDAY KIND OF VIBE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I’m feeling a Monday kind of vibe, aren’t you? Perhaps I am feeling a Monday kind of vibe because it is Monday. Although, if the truth be told, I once felt a Monday kind of vibe on a Wednesday and it freaked me out, baby, it freaked me out. I almost had to take some Lithium, frankly, or even georgely. I mean, it’s one thing to feel a Monday kind of vibe on a Monday but to feel a Monday kind of vibe on a Wednesday is simply too too outrĂ© for words. You know, if anyone has a clew as to what the HELL I’m talking about, don’t be shy, let us know. In any case, I’m feeling a Monday kind of vibe. Yesterday, I felt a Sunday kind of love and the day before I felt a Saturday kind of Friday feeling. Yesterday, I also had a nice luncheon at which I agreed to put together an act for someone. After the nice luncheon, I toddled off to the Beach of Long to attend a little do at the home of the chairman of the Theatre Academy at LACC. It was a lovelier than lovely gathering – since I’d just eaten a little pizza at the California Pizza Kitchen, I just had a little salad and a little cake. Several of the students who’ve worked our cabaret series were there – they all did a great job for the last four weeks and I dare say they kept everything running smoothly and professionally. I’m sure that several of them will end up in The Brain From Planet X. After that, I came home, where I sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night I tried to watch a motion picture on DVD, a Japanese film entitled Twenty-Four Eyes. But, I was rather restless and the film was/is rather slow and sugary, but I’ll try to finish it tonight. I haven’t gotten a new DVD in over a week, so I’m trying to watch a few things that I’ve had for a while but haven’t gotten around to watching. So, instead of finishing the movie I sat at the computer wasting time googling this and that and also that and this.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’ve got a Monday kind of vibe and when you’ve got a Monday kind of vibe the only thing to do is to click on an Unseemly Button, should there be on nearby, which there is so perhaps now would be a good time to click on it since this has turned into one of those confounded run-on sentences that take on a life of their own with words tumbling one after another willy-nilly and also nilly-willy one after another without a care in the world and without any punctuation to stop them from hurtling across the page like a gazelle in chaps and by gum and by golly and buy bonds won’t anyone throw me a period or a semi-colon or even a colon because.

There. I thought that would never end. Quick, Watson, the Unseemly Button.

Today I must buckle down Winsocki and do some serious writing. Well, hopefully it won’t be serious writing since I’m writing a comedy. I don’t really have any plans for today or tonight (at least that I can remember) so it’s a great day for buckling down, writing-wise. The rest of the week shall be frightfully busy, what with the birthday do of Mr. David Wechter tomorrow night, and then the opening night of Curtains, and then some show at the Hudson, not to mention several meetings. As it turns out, I’m now going to direct two people’s one-person shows, plus that kids thing, plus doing the Brain rewrite (hopefully later this week), plus getting ready to attend auditions for the Brain. We also are going to hire a casting director for the kids thing and I’ve got to meet with a few of those this week, as well.

If you missed any of the goings on around here this past weekend, do catch up or, at the very least, do ketchup. And don’t forget, you have until midnight tonight to submit your Unseemly Trivia Contest answers (we’ve had only a couple of submissions thus far).

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, jog, write, write, and then write, as well as eat, do errands and maybe even get something new and exciting on DVD. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your all-time favorite garage sale finds, and what are your all-time favorite treasures you’ve found at thrift shops and on eBay? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we all have that Monday kind of vibe.
