THE BECKONING BED

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am writing these here notes early so I can get them posted so I can get as much beauty sleep as I possibly can before arising at four-fifteen in Ye Olde Morning. I’ll probably be able to post from the airport, so that will be fun. Speaking of fun, yesterday was fun. For example, I got up. That’s always fun. Then I did some stuff, which included packing. I then had my morning meeting with Miss Joan Ryan, after which I did some banking, some shopping, and other stuff. So, I was able to have a couple of hours of relaxation before my afternoon meetings. The key afternoon meeting was with a sound designer, who has now been hired to do the show, and I’m thrilled, as she’s one of the best in LA. We then did our photo shoot, which was a lot of laughs, I must say. We got some great stuff, too. After that, I came home, ate a small chicken wrap, and then sat on my couch like so much fish for a few moments, before starting to write these here notes. I’m really going to try to be in bed by ten or ten-thirty at the latest.

Last night, I watched a little more of The Mole People and I must say I am really not enjoying it – I’m about thirty minutes in and it’s just boring me to tears. I’m hoping I enjoy The Monolith Monsters more.

Just think, tonight, right about the time I’m actually writing these here notes, I shall be sitting at table 20 at Joe Allen and merrily supping away with assistant Jonathan and whoever else shows up.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because my eyelids are heavy and my bed is beckoning.

Tomorrow, I shall try to take a nice, long brisk walk in the morning, then I attend a five-hour rehearsal with Emily and Alice, then I hang with them for a couple of hours, then I skip over to have a hainsies/kimlets gathering at FJL and Skip’s. I’m looking forward to it all.

Saturday, we go into Town Hall around twelve-thirty to begin what is most likely going to be an arduous set up to record their show. I am hoping, of course, that it is not arduous, that it, in fact, goes smoothly, so that we can test record some of the afternoon rehearsal. Then it’s an hour or so off, and then we fly by the seat of our pantaloons. I’m told that after the show there’s a bash, and I guess I’ll attend for a little while, but will then have to get as much sleep as I can for the next day’s early flight.

Do these here notes sound like an itinerary? How unseemly. My goodness my eyelids are heavy. Perhaps they should go on a diet. My eyelids are heavy and my bed is beckoning. The Beckoning Bed – that’s the title of my next novel.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, arise early, go to the airport, fly to New York, sup at Joe Allen, and have a high old time. Today’s topic of discussion: What is your favorite deli food, described in loving detail please – along with your favorite delis. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, because, as you know, my bed is beckoning me.
