COLON CLEANSER

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I received a wonderful e-mail just now, offering me a colon cleanser. I cannot tell you how long I’ve been trying to find a good colon cleanser and now, thanks to this thoughtful e-mail, I’ve found one. I can now cleanse and flush pounds from my colon (noloc, spelled backwards) and that knowledge will certainly make me sleep well this evening. Frankly, I think these here notes could use a good colon cleanser or, at the very least, a colonoscopy. Yes, it’s become clear – today is colon day here at haineshisway.com. All things colon. All Things Colon – that’s the title of my next novel. Today we can have both high and low colonics, not necessarily in that order. What the HELL am I talking about? I ask you, where else on all the Internet can you read about All Things Colon? Nowhere, that’s where. I had another rather pleasant day yesterday, did you know THAT, for example? The noise level at seven was excruciatingly loud – it sounded like they were hurling huge lumber planks to and fro and also fro and to. I refused to get out of bed and even managed to fall asleep a couple of times. I got up around eight-thirty. I spoke to muse Margaret and we discussed about twelve fixes from the two proofers that I hadn’t wanted to make without getting her opinion. We ended up doing about a third of them (I’d already done the ones I knew were good and correct). So, the book is proofed and done and is now with Mr. Grant Geissman, who’ll get it ready for our design session for early next week. Very exciting. I then had to do some errands and whatnot, including shipping a few packages. I then did the long jog, and then I picked up a few packages and had a Subway sandwich for lunch. We’re moving right along with the next Kritzerland release, and I’m hoping to announce it by the end of next week. Those who’ve listened to this week’s radio show already know what it is. And I just sent everything to the mastering engineer for our next two or three releases, and as soon as I find a box that will hold them I’ll be sending up the bonus material for our reissue of the Baja Marimbas CD I did for Bay Cities. I will also say that if you haven’t gotten your Anya or Illya Darling CDs now would be a good time, as both are very close to selling out. Also, Cops and Robbers will most likely be sold out by the end of today. Next week, we’re going to begin to add content to the Kritzerland site. I think we’ll have an interview up by mid-week, and I’ll be writing occasional things there, including something for next week that will elaborate on how we’re doing all these Kritzerland projects. And I’m going to start talking about my record producing days on the site, which I think will be fun. So, stay tuned. After all that, I finally sat on my couch like so much fish.

Last night, I finished watching a motion picture on DVD (yes, DVD) entitled A Time To Love And A Time To Die, a film by Mr. Douglas Sirk, starring Mr. John Gavin and Miss Lilo Pulver. It’s a very strange movie about German soldiers in WWII – and yes, Mr. Gavin plays a German soldier, so I think you can guess that all the Germans sound just like they’re American soldiers, save for the handful of German actors who aren’t dubbed. Mr. Sirk’s direction is excellent and the film certainly looks good (and has a good Miklos Rozsa score). And I do love and adore Miss Lilo Pulver. As far as I can tell, she only did two American movies – this and Billy Wilder’s One, Two, Three, in which she gives an absolutely brilliant comic performance as James Cagney’s secretary. I can’t say I’ll be watching this war film/sudser again, but its two-plus hours went by reasonably quickly. The transfer on this UK import is really excellent.

Has anyone had their colon cleansed whilst reading the first section of the notes? Just asking. Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must get my beauty sleep before the noise begins at seven in the morning.

And so begins the long weekend, which I’m really looking forward to. Last night, I had to do an errand in Hollywood, and driving back home on the freeway I was treated to an incredible fireworks display happening at the Hollywood Bowl. We’ll be having our own haineshisway.com fireworks right here at haineshisway.com, so do attend our long weekend partay.

Today, I have very few plans – mostly just a few errands and whatnot and doing the long jog and picking up a package or three. Tomorrow, she of the Evil Eye will be here both bright and early and early and bright, and then later in the day I’ll be attending a 4th of July partay at neighbor Tony Slide and Bob Gitt’s home environment. Their partays are always a good deal of fun and there are always interesting types there. I will, of course, have a full report.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do the long jog, do errands and whatnot, and then relax and watch motion pictures and listen to CDs. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/video player? I’ll start – CD, various soundtrack CDs, including Quincy Jones’ The Split and Johnny Williams’ None But The Brave. Blu-Ray, currently watching Luc Besson’s The Big Blue, which I’m really enjoying. After that it will be Dark City, which I remember sort of enjoying. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and anyone who is in need of a colon cleanser, I’ll be more than happy to forward the e-mail I received.
