Well, dear readers, soon I will be in the city that never sleeps, and I must write these here notes in a hurry because I need sleep to be in the city that never sleeps. One thing I learned today is that watching Lost, Season Five is not that smart a thing to do when one is going to fly. But enough about me, let me tell you about – ME. Me had a perfectly pleasant day yesterday, with no real highs and no real lows, just mids. I got up very early, and Mr. Handy Man arrived at eight. He fixed problem number one very quickly (an electrical device outside was making awful noises, but just needed to be cleaned), and then we discussed putting up metal shelves in the garage so that the Kritzerland inventory would be more organized and, best of all, off the floor. So, off he went to buy three metal shelving units. He came back and began assembling them as I did the long jog. He was here about seven hours doing it and then putting all the boxes on the shelves, and I must say it was an incredibly smart decision to do it – everything on that side of the garage is so neat now and everything is so easy to find. When I return from the city that never sleeps, we will buy five more of these and then I’ll finally be able to clear some DVDs and CDs out of the house, and also have a place for all our shipping stuff. And, best of all, there will finally be plenty of room should I choose to park my motor car in the garage. We’ll also unpack some of the many book boxes so I can actually have books I haven’t seen in five years available to me. I picked up a couple of packages (I’m really hoping some of the really errant and truant packages arrive today, otherwise I won’t see them until next Friday), printed out orders, had a few long telephonic calls, and opened a package that, for some reason, I thought was from amazon. It wasn’t – it was, in fact, from my publisher and inside were two lovelier than lovely copies of my new novel – one paperback, one hardcover. They looked splendidly splendid, and I dropped an e-mail to the book order person, who was gone for the day – so I’ll place my book order on Monday and should have books about seven days later. We then created a page so people could pre-order the new book – said page is located at www.kritzerland.com – just click on “Fun” on the menu bar, and then on the book link, and then on the new book title and voila, you can read about the book and then order your signed copy. And everyone who orders will, of course, get a lovely surprise gift with their book. So, don’t delay – check it out, place an order, and like that. I had a Subway turkey sandwich for my meal o’ the day, and a little later I had some cucumber roll, a tiny bit of seafood salad, and some grapes and cherries.
I also watched three count them three episodes of Lost, Season Five. One of the episodes drove me a little crazy, but when I watched the one that followed I saw that it was a necessary episode (albeit not a great one) to get to the new places the writers have decided to go. The show has gotten very odd, but I’m sticking with it till the bitter end.
Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I want to get some good sleep, because soon I will be in the city that never sleeps.
Today, I’ll be getting up early, doing the long jog, delivering a big box o’ CDs to a local dealer, doing some banking, buying some toiletries, packing my suitcase, doing some laundry, getting my mail, and I want to be completely finished doing all that by two o’clock at the latest. I then will have something light to eat and then I’m just relaxing and getting my head together for the flight. I’ll also print out my boarding pass. I will be going to be by ten at the latest, and maybe even earlier, so the notes will go up prior to bed. Then I’m up at four-thirty so that I’ll be ready for my five o’clock transportation.
Tomorrow, I shall be winging my way Eastward to Newark, and from there to New York, New York and my hotel. And tomorrow evening I shall be supping at table twenty at Joe Allen with Miss Crista Moore, who is the reason for this trip.
I have rehearsals with Miss Moore and Alex Rybeck every day. I’m excited to attend our get together on Monday night, and I’m supping with Miss Merrill Grant (she of The Brain From Planet X) on Wednesday evening. Tuesday evening I’m seeing Skip Kennon’s one-act musical, which I’m very much looking forward to. I’ll try to see a few other friends while there.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do the long jog, deliver a box o’ CDs, do banking, buy toiletries, pack a suitcase, print a boarding pass, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What was the very first trip you ever took? Where did you go, how old were you, and did you like it? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I get ready to come to the city that never sleeps.
