HAGIOGRAPHY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, it is Monday. I ask you, where else on all the Internet can you find such information? Nowhere, that’s where. I think that’s about all I have to say for today, and yet I must say more, otherwise these here notes shall be briefer than the briefs in a Calvin Klein underwear add. No, I must find something to talk about, something meaningful and important, like why is there such a word as hagiography? But I don’t feel like having a meaningful and important discussion about the word hagiography, therefore I won’t. Well, I can tell you, for example, that yesterday ended up being quite a busy day. I got up at ten, having had a wonderful night’s sleep, which I really needed, and having very amusing dreams. An hour later, Mr. Cason Murphy arrived and we began addressing packages – there were a lot to address, and then Cason had to fill out all the customs forms for the international orders, which is such a pain in the ASS. Then we took turns printing out the postage strips, and then he attached them all. It took three-and-a-half hours, all told, and then we went to the Studio CafĂ© and had a well-earned lunch, where we had a very serious discussion about why there is such a word as hagiography. We came to no conclusions. We also discussed the upcoming private Nudie Musical reading and he’ll start calling the cast members we know we’d like to do it, and then we’ll look to fill in the other roles. If everyone’s available, we’ll try to do it one week from today. If not, it could be later in the week, but it has to happen next week, otherwise it will have to wait until the beginning of January. After that, we came back and worked up a LACCTAA announcement for our upcoming alumni Christmas party, which takes place December 16th at LACC. He then left and I began writing the liner notes for our next release – having seen the cover for it, which is beyond wonderful, inspired me. I’m having lots of fun writing them, and part of them is personal in nature, which is also fun. So, basically it was a long work day. I finally sat on my couch like so much fish, and started a motion picture on Blu and Ray entitled King Kong, the 1976 version. But I was feeling a little restless so I stopped around nine and did some more work on the liner notes.

I also had a few e-mails to answer, and I did some other work on the computer, and then took a hot shower. Then I just sort of walked around aimlessly, thinking about why there is such a word as hagiography. I completely forgot that the annual Studio City Christmas Parade was happening – I realized it when I looked out my window and saw every parking space for blocks taken. At some point I did go to Jerry’s Deli and brought home some chicken soup, which I felt I needed to have. All in all, it wasn’t a bad Sunday, but it certainly was not a day of rest.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below – did you know I just typed Unseemly Buttocks – it just happened, I don’t know why. I rather like the idea of clicking on Unseemly Buttocks, don’t you? Unseemly Buttocks – that’s the title of my next novel, a story of, well, Unseemly Buttocks.

Today I shall not do much at all. Oh, I’ll perhaps try to jog (although it’s been really chilly here), and I’ll finish the liner notes and get them to the designer, and I’ll prep our new release announcement eBlast, and even do a few errands and whatnot, but that’s about it. If the Blu-Ray of Julie and Julia arrives, I’ll watch that – it will be here today or tomorrow for sure.

Tomorrow is, of course, a day in which I shall suddenly be one year older and one year wiser. Weeks ago there were rumblings of something happening but for now, other than a lunch meeting, there are no birthday plans whatsoever, so I may just buy a cake and eat the damn thing myself. People – can’t live with ’em, can’t live with ’em.

But for now, let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s all break out the cheese slices and the vegetarian ham chunks made of tofu, let’s all dance the Hora or the Twist, for today is December 7th, a day that will live in infamy because our very own beloved and on-the-mend dear reader Jane was born. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to our very own beloved and on-the-mend dear reader Jane. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR VERY OWN ON-THE-MEND DEAR READER JANE!!!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a jog, I must finish liner notes, I must prep our new release announcement, I must do a few errands and whatnot and I must eat something amusing but light. Today’s topic of discussion: What was the first horror movie you ever saw – the first science fiction movie you ever saw and what did you think of it? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we ponder why there is such a word as hagiography.
