THE OLYMPIA BRAIN

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a super hurry for many reasons – I have to be up at five, the Internet in this hotel is so wonky that it just occasionally quits and I want to get these here notes posted before that happens, so here we go. We had a very nice flight in, and a nice drive to Olympia. We checked into the hotel, and I immediately had trouble with the Internet, so they switched my room, where I was at least able to get on for a while, sporadically. After that, David Wechter and I found a great sandwich place, where I had the single best chicken salad sandwich ever. We then walked around, admiring the great architecture and going into a few stores. After that, we came back to the hotel, where I continued to wrestle with the Internet. Finally, it was time to meet dear readers George, TCB, MBarnum, and Ann for dinner. And what a fun dinner it was – I only had a Caesar salad and it was really excellent, and we hung out for a couple of hours – dished was dished and we laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more, we laughed again. And then it was time to head over to the theater.

Last night, we saw a production of The Brain From Planet X. We had a great time, George did a great job, and it was just a whole lot o’ fun with a whole lot o’ laughs. It was very different than the Indiana production, which was also fun. After the show, we did a little talkback and answered some questions, then we went out for a quick drink with the cast and director and crew, and that was fun, too. All in all, a splendidly splendid time was had by all, and it was great to see our hainsies/kimlets again – TCB was delightful, as was MBarnum and George, and Ann looked beautiful and was her usual sweet, lovely self.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must be up at five and I’d like to get a few hours of sleep if I can.

Today, I shall be up at five, and then on my way to the Seattle airport, and then back home to Burbank. Please send lots of excellent vibes and xylophones for an on-time, safe and secure flight. Once back, I’ll go home, unpack, do some stuff, and then I have a two-thirty meeting at Jerry’s Deli, and then Barry Pearl and I will be having supper.

Tomorrow will be a day of rest, at least that’s the plan. And then CDs arrive on Monday and we’ll ship all those out. The rest of the week is filled with meetings, errands and whatnot, and prepping a new release.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, get up at five, fly back to Burbank, attend a meeting, and have dinner. Today’s topic of discussion: No time to think of one, so you’re on your own. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, as I hit the road to dreamland.
