SOLID SILVER PLATFORM SHOES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this week is really flying by, like a gazelle wearing solid silver platform shoes. It’s been a little nutty this week, what with the helper problems and getting 2200 CDs shipped and writing every day in between the dealing with stuff – but, I’ve written more than usual and have managed to get everything else done, so that’s good. And I will just say that the helper needs mega-excellent vibes and xylophones this very day, so send ’em along if you can. Yesterday was all kinds of busy. I got up at nine-thirty (I’d already been up at five), answered e-mails, and then did a lot of futzing and fixing with the pages from the day before, after which I continued on for about three pages. Then I had to ship a few stray packages, after which I picked up a couple of packages and no mail. I had a foot-long turkey sandwich from the Subway that actually bordered on vile – just horrible, but I ate it because I was hungry. Then I wrote another four or five pages, then had to head over to the tape transfer place, where we determined exactly what needed to be transferred – the tapes have to be baked, so the transfers will actually be done late this afternoon and the mastering guy will be able to start assembling and doing his stuff on Friday. Meanwhile, we began working on the packaging, so the wheels are turning, which is a good thing, wheel-wise. Then I watched a motion picture on DVD, which I can’t really talk about without giving away what our next release is – it’s a very powerful film, one I’ve written about before – with great performances and a short but brilliant score by one of my favorite film composers. Then the Kritzerland designer came by and picked up materials for a future release, and we went over to Jerry’s Deli, where I had a real turkey sandwich and a cup of soup. That made me feel better. I came home, wrote another page or so (I think I did nine or ten in all) and that was that.

I also had the news that it really does look like we’ll have four original pit singers from Promises, Promises in this year’s Kritzerland Christmas show at the Gardenia. It will be a reunion for them and they will sing Turkey Lurkey Time. So, here’s hoping it really happens because it would be monumental and FUN. I spoke to Mr. Gregory Harrison, who wants to come sing on Friday, so we’re trying to get John Boswell to come an hour earlier than scheduled – if he can, then we’ll work for that hour.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below even though this first section is much shorter than usual, but it’s late and I’m tired and I have a busy day today and I need to put on my solid silver platform shoes and head to the bedroom environment.

Today, I shall get up by nine, ship a couple of things, write some checks, and then write some pages. I have a couple of errands and whatnot to do, but those should be very brief, and then I’m hoping I can just have fun and write. At four, I’ll be printing out however many pages I’ve got (probably close to sixty) and I’ll bring them to Muse Margaret to make sure she likes it and that it’s interesting and fun and that it’s going in the right direction. Other than that, I’m eating very lightly because I must lose a few pounds before next Wednesday’s Gardenia show.

Tomorrow, I’ll be writing in the morning and then we may have the Gregory Harrison rehearsal, followed by Millicent Martin, followed by the Nightmare Trio and then our mighty cast of players. We should be through by seven, and then I’ll be on my way to the Gardenia to see my pal Linden Waddell’s new show.

Saturday at ten, the helper’s boyfriend and the helper’s best friend will convene with me and we’ll begin getting the best friend up to speed on how the shipping is done, and where everything is located. She’ll have two weeks to get used to it and do some small orders before we actually ship the title we’re announcing on Monday (Saturday midnight here). So, I’m hoping we’ll be fine. Sunday should be mine all mine and I hope to have a fun writing and relaxing day.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, ship, write, print, deliver pages, pick up some packages, and write some more. Today’s topic of discussion: We had us thirty-two GUESTS in here at midnight last night, and many of them seemed to have an interesting interest in the years 2004 and 2005. One topic, which four GUESTS were looking at had so many fun responses (from 2004) that I thought it would be fun to do it again (I’m sure we’ve done it several times) – what are your all-time favorite breakfasts? Describe the foodstuffs in loving detail, please. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I put on my solid silver platform shoes and boogie to the bedroom environment, where I shall hit the road to dreamland.
