SOVEREIGN CITIZENS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I thought I’d seen it all by now, but I guess there are always new things to discover, and this new thing I discovered thanks to the Tube of You is the sub-species known as the sovereign citizen. I had no idea what that was until watching a suggested video. If you, too, do not know, hie yourself to YouTube and put that in a search. It takes a really special kind of stupid to do what these people are doing and yes, they’re all morons of the highest order. These idiots read stuff on Twitter and see things on YouTube from other idiots – and they think this stuff they read enables them to not have to abide by laws. It’s astonishing, really. My mouth was on the floor. None of what they spout is anything more than BS – they don’t have to have current license plates, they don’t need to show their license when they’re pulled over and asked for it, they think they don’t have to answer questions, they’re not “drivers” they’re “travelers” and they’re not in cars they’re in their homes – I mean, it’s just mind-boggling. And all these morons have printed out sheets that they read from – I mean, it’s a “thing.” I believe most of them are so deluded that they get stopped on purpose – the fake plates or expired plates, licenses, and registration. And the most astonishing thing is the patience of the officers who’ve pulled these nitwits over. They try, sometimes for a very long time, and then they warn the occupant of the car who, of course, is filming everything for social media (the officers all have body cams and are filming as well and are being perfectly reasonable) that unless they comply, they’ll break the window and haul the person off to jail. And that they do because these morons either want that or they’re just so stupid that they think the BS they’re spouting is real. “I don’t have to show you identification” “I’m not a citizen, I’m a man” “I don’t have to answer questions” “I want your supervisor” “I will not get out of my car” “I want YOUR ID” (the police always give them badge numbers if asked), and then they read this crap they saw on the Internet or that someone printed out for them – all these supposed legal things, none of which make a whit of difference. And when they go to court they play the same game – “You don’t have jurisdiction” “I don’t go by that name” – and the judges just sit there and have to deal with this idiocy. One judge I watched is patient with a moron and then gets more and more irritated until he has to threaten the idiot with contempt. Then there are other members of the cult who go to courts and try to take their cameras in to film, which is not allowed. And they cite all the same crap and all end with the same result – taken to jail. It’s very entertaining to a point, then you just want to pepper spray all of them. Oh, and when they’re hauled out of their vehicle they put on quite a show for the camera, screaming and crying – it’s so laughable how gullible and truly stupid these morons are. Sovereign citizens my ASS.

Otherwise, I am sitting here like so much fish, having finished with the small Kubelik box, which has some nice things in it, but for the mono stuff I much prefer Mr. Ormandy, Mr. Reiner, and Mr. Rodzinski. I was so caught up with watching the sovereign citizen videos that I never had time to watch a motion picture. And now playing is the brilliant Romance for Harmonica and orchestra by one Ralph Vaughan Williams. I just love this piece. It just came up because Ralph Vaughan Williams directly follows Rafael Kubelik in iTunes.

Yesterday was certainly a day. I only got five-and-a-half hours of sleep, I had to ship a little package and pick up no packages or mail, then I made three hot dogs for food – just mustard and onions on each, so super low-calorie at 530 for the three. Throughout the course of the day and evening I had two tiny bags of chips, one beef stick, a tiny pit of Baskin-Robbins pistachio almond ice cream, and then a little trip to Gelson’s so I could have a light evening snack of seafood salad and spicy Thai noodles – just a small amount of each. So, all in, I probably was around 1200 calories, which was and is fine.

I had a few telephonic conversations, I got the last of the music and all singers now have their stuff, but I still need one or two more performers to do a couple more songs. That’s today’s order of business. And then I listened to music and began writing these here notes.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, I’ll do some work at the piano and on the computer, I’ll eat something light and try to stick to only 1000 calories, and then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow is more of the same and planning for our musical theatre workshop, and then Saturday, we do the workshop from eleven to two, which is good because she of the Evil Eye comes. I won’t have time to do breakfast and that’s good, too, because I’m supping with Peyton and her mom that evening, which I’m really looking forward to because it’s a restaurant we all love, and then we’ll mosey on over to the theater to see the playlets. I’m thinking Sunday might just be a ME day, which would be nice, although I will have to drive over to storage that day because I’ve procrastinated long enough.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, hopefully pick up packages, do work at the piano and computer, find a couple more performers, eat, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite films and recordings of the one and only Miss Doris Day, who I’m listening to right now – her and the Andre Previn Trio. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping I never run into any sovereign citizens for both our sakes.
