CHEEZ WHIZ

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this month is flying by, like a gazelle with gall stones. I would like this month to perhaps move a little slower, but noooo, it just whizzes by like Cheez Whiz out of a bottle. Does anyone still eat Cheez Whiz? I’m sure I’ve had it, although I don’t really have a memory of it. Perhaps with crackers? Velveeta, I remember. Cheez Whiz, not so much. Now I want some. What can you do with Cheez Whiz? Let’s have some things you can do with Cheez Whiz, other than smearing it on your arms and legs. Are there actual things you can do with Cheez Whiz that involve things you eat or recipes or things you put it on? Clearly, I am a Cheez Whiz neophyte and no whiz at all, Cheez Whiz-wise. Or should that be Cheese Wise-whiz. What the HELL am I talking about? Why did Cheez Whiz come oozing out of my subconscious? The mind is a strange thing, is it not? There you are, sitting like so much fish and writing these here notes and suddenly you’re typing Cheez Whiz, completely out of the blue and even out of the pink. Otherwise, I’m listening to Howard Hanson’s A Sea Symphony, which is not the same as Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony. I have watched no motion pictures due to having other things that needed doing. I did do some viewing of YouTube items, most notably the trial and sentencing of one Jodi Arias, something about which I knew absolutely nothing. It was mesmerizing to watch and equally mesmerizing to hear the court of appeals not declare a mistrial but clearly castigate the prosecution attorney for inappropriate behavior throughout the trial. He is no longer a prosecutor and that wasn’t the only instance of inappropriate behavior on his part. Jodi herself was fascinating in the ways she would constantly lie, then change her story. A very weird woman, who testified for eighteen days straight. She ended up with life in prison with no chance of parole. The most surprising thing is that no one’s made a movie out of it yet. And now, Hanson’s A Sea Symphony (Symphony No. 7) is done, and Symphony No. 6 is playing. My love for Mr. Hanson’s music knows no bounds or even leaps. I don’t know these later symphonies nearly as well as the first three, so it’s fun to hear them again.

Yesterday was another day, I think I’m safe in saying THAT. I did get nine hours of sleep again, so that was good. Once up, I had lots of e-mails to answer and then I buckled down, Winsocki and wrote the opening commentary. Then I went to Jersey Mike’s and got a regular turkey and provolone and a mini Original Eyetalian. Their regular is like a six-inch Subway sandwich, and yet the calorie count is higher than a footlong, so I’m not sure I trust their calorie count at all. I came home and ate the turkey – they went a bit too heavy on the oil, but it was still pretty good.

Then I continued writing the commentary and got two-thirds of the way through act one, so that was good, but after I post these here notes I’ll definitely do the rest of act one and get into act two. Then I watched the Jodi Arias stuff on the Tube of You, had the Original Eyetalian mini, which also was a bit heavy on the oil but pretty good. I had a couple of telephonic conversations, and the rest you know.

Today, I’ll be up by eleven, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll finish the commentary, and then we have our one and only Group Rep cabaret rehearsal beginning around three. I may try and wait to eat until after rehearsal. Then I can watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow, something is going on, but I can’t remember what. Hopefully, someone will remind me – it’s either a lunch or a meeting or some such thing. Friday is definitely a lunch meeting. Otherwise, I’ll be choosing songs for the Kritzerland anniversary show and I’ve still got a couple of folks to cast. Then on Sunday, we have a stumble-through/tech, then do the show on Monday and Tuesday.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, finish writing the commentary, have a long rehearsal, eat, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear readers any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, whilst I think about good uses for Cheez Whiz.
