Well, dear readers, I think I’ll keep these here notes short and sweet. Oh, I could make them long and sour, or perhaps short and sour or long and sweet, but I’m thinking the correct recipe for these here notes is short and sweet or, at the very least, sweet and short. And whilst keeping them short and sweet I will note in the notes that I am listening to Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, which is by Verdi, in case you were wondering. This is an excerpts album conducted by Mr. Mitropoulos and featuring Jan Peerce and Roberta Peters. Very enjoyable opera about balls and mascara. This is disc 63 of 69 so we’re almost to the end of this remarkably remarkable set. Prior to listening and writing short and sweet notes, I did watch two documentaries on the Flix of Net – the first was about disgusting people who threatened young teen girls (and sometimes even children) that they had incriminating pictures and blackmailed them into actually taking incriminating pictures which were then posted to a chat room on a site called Telegram. It’s shocking that they could dupe so many kids, but they did. It’s sickening, but the good news is that the two or three main ringleaders of the scheme are currently serving very, very long prison sentences, as are many of the creeps who frequented the chat rooms, over three thousand of those. Hopefully, that sends a very clear message, but with these types of miscreants, it’s doubtful. The second documentary was entitled Trust No One, about the Bitcoin phenomenon and one of the guys mainly responsible – Gerald Cotten, who stole millions and millions of dollars from buyers, died in India at thirty, and who left everything to his wife. Ripe for conspiracy people, it makes one wonder how Bitcoin and crypto currency has survived – it’s not doing well, from what I understand, but then again I understand absolutely nothing about that insane world – words like blockchain and non-fungible tokens – I mean, give me CASH, baby, CASH. But some people at the beginning of it did extremely well, as most people in Ponzi schemes do if they’re in at the top. One fellow put in $400,000 to the website that Cotten created, QuadrigaCX. And tried to transfer it to his bank and could not. That went on for three months and he was assured it was just a hiccup – and then Cotten died and the guy lost all his money. It was good, but with the usual “arty” and fussy direction all these documentaries have.
Yesterday was okay. I didn’t get much sleep – maybe four or five hours, so I was a little “off” all day. I did do some important stuff and I thought about going to California Pizza Kitchen, but in the end I had Cheesecake Factory delivered – not the entire restaurant, just my favorite pasta – farfalle with roasted garlic and chicken. I had the lunch portion, which was plenty, and a couple pieces of bread and that was my only food o’ the day, save for a couple of forty calorie fruit bars, which were – short and sweet, like these here notes. All singers are fine with the schedule we made for the Kritzerland show, so that was good. I did some work on the computer, watched some of the Johnny Depp trial, and that was pretty much it. Because I’d stayed up late reading and making notes on the screenplay, I didn’t go back to it – I’m in the last third now, which is where I think a lot of cuts have to happen. I may do some of that after posting these short and sweet notes.
Today, I’ll be up around ten-thirty, I’ll place the book order, which means I actually have to print out all those invoices before going to bed so I know how many I need to order, then I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, I’ll eat something fun, read and make notes on the screenplay, and then watch, listen, and relax. I need to get to bed early because she of the Evil Eye will be here bright and early.
I think the weekend will be restful, and then next week is busy.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up around ten-thirty, order books, hopefully pick up packages, eat, read and make notes, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – CD, the rest of Mitropoulos. Blu-ray, have no idea. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have kept these here notes short and sweet.
