39% AND RISING!

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, let me begin by saying this: 39%! Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, 39%! The interesting news is that five copies of the new book were taken. We do need some of the bigger ticket items to go if we’re to get where we need to be by the end of this week, which is, I’m hoping, 50%. I believe that one of any kind of perk will get us to 40% and we’re only a hundred-something dollars away from 8K. A lot of the out of print CDs have sold, but there are still a few goodies left of those. I’m looking for the next set of perks, probably up on Wednesday. The Perk of the Day today isn’t for the dear readers here, it’s for people in the LA area. The Christmas photo shoot/headshot photo shoot by Karen Staitman. I’m hoping someone will grab those – they’re at a big savings from what she usually charges, and she does great work. Here’s the usual handy-dandy link.

And now, I am listening to Between Two Worlds by Mr. Erich Wolfgang Korngold – what a composer he was, what a melodist, and his themes are just so memorable and such ear candy. Prior to that, I did watch a motion picture entitled The Equalizer, a film version of the TV series of old, but starring Denzel Washington and directed by Antoine Fuqua. I must say, I do enjoy a good vigilante causing mayhem to bad people and this is a good example of that genre. It’s not brilliant or great, but I find these films very enjoyable, and I find Mr. Washington enjoyable. This one involves some Russian pimps and slimeballs in Boston and it’s ever so much fun watching the unstoppable Mr. Washington take each and every one of the out. There’s a sequel and I’ll probably watch that one tonight and I don’t care who knows it. Prior to that, I had two long and interesting telephonic calls that were long and interesting, not necessarily in that order.

Yesterday was certainly okay. I did get eight hours of sleep, arising at eleven. I answered e-mails, did some cheerleading and posting about the new perky perks, then I moseyed on over to the mail place and picked up a small package. After that, I drove up the street and got two mild chicken breasts from Popeye’s, came home and ate them – thankfully, they were a good batch and I enjoyed both mild breasts.

After that, I did more cheerleading, more work on the computer, and then I sat on my couch like so much fish and watched The Equalizer. After the movie, I went and put gas in the motor car for the first time in four weeks. I put in eighty bucks, which bought me twelve gallons. If I’d put in another three to completely fill the tank, the cost would have been over one hundred bucks. Then I came home and the rest you know.

Today, I’ll be up by seven and out the door twenty minutes later to take the motor car in for its first servicing since purchasing it. They’ve told me it will take three hours, so I’ll mosey on over to a nearby restaurant that thankfully is a twenty-four-hour jernt. I’ll have a leisurely breakfast and try to kill between ninety minutes and two hours there. Then I’ll take a nice walk and peruse the neighborhood for the other hour. Once I have the car, I’ll come home, cheerlead, then at three-thirty I have a Zoom with David Wechter so we can go through our script and make the cuts definite and talk through the few things we haven’t decided on. Then at some point I can watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow begins the second week of our Indiegogo campaign and hopefully we’ll keep having action every day – I would seriously like to reach our goal several days before the campaign closes so we can have our stretch goal and cover the Indiegogo fees. Then it’s cheerleading all through the week and then I have a lunch on Friday.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by seven and out the door twenty minutes later, I must take the motor car in for servicing, I must eat a leisurely breakfast, I must take a leisurely walk, and then I must pick up the motor car and come home. I’ll cheerlead, have a Zoom with David Wechter, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite vigilante-type movies? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have gone up to 39% and hoping we continue to rise, rise, rise.
