A TALE OF TWO LUNCHES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am still listening to the music of Alexander Von Zemlinsky and I’m still finding it very enjoyable and I don’t care who knows it. I also finished the limited series Reacher, which is the TV adaptation of The Killing Floor by Lee Child. I enjoyed it pretty much all the way until the last fifteen minutes, where it just goes on and on instead of wrapping it up quickly. And the final couple of episodes really pushed the violence. The leading man may be right physically, but I preferred Tom Cruise’s performance, acting-wise. The lead gal, Willa Fitzgerald, is very good, and some of the supporting performances are also very good, while with others the ham is laid on a bit thick. It’s been renewed, so it will be interesting to see which book they do next. I am tempted to rent the second Cruise/Reacher movie, just to see what it’s like – I think it’s cheap. Otherwise, I just had a long telephonic conversation. Did you? Were we conversing at the same time to different people? Speaking of conversing, here are a few more videos from last Friday night’s Kritzerland show.

More in tomorrow’s notes.

Yesterday was a bit of a day. I got six-and-a-half hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, then had to go to an early lunch meeting at The Cheesecake Factory. It was an interesting meeting in many ways. I had a chicken salad sandwich, which was good. Then I had to go directly to Mel’s Drive-In to meet Grant Geissman. Since I’d only had the sandwich, at Mel’s I had the combo onion rings/fries thing and that was fine.

After that, I went to Grant’s home environment and saw his new OLED TV thing and it puts out a wonderful image with gorgeous colors. Very impressive. One day, I hope to own one because my Samsung TV is now VERY old – from 2008, so it’s time.

Then I came home and did some work on the computer, had some e-mail volleys, watched Reacher to its conclusion, and then had a fried chicken sandwich from a nearby jernt – it was pretty good. So, two sandwiches for the meals along with onion rings/fries combo platter. Not terrible, but not great. Then I had the long telephonic conversation and then it was time to write these here notes.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’m hoping we can announce in the morning, I’m hoping we get at least a few orders, then I can do whatever needs doing, and then at five-thirty I’m meeting Sami and her mom for an early dinner at a nearby jernt we all like very much. Then I’ll come home and watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow, I have an early lunch with Adryan Russ. Then I can hope that the check for last Friday’s Kritzerland show arrives. I’ll finish writing the patter for the Indiegogo thing, then the weekend will be spent shooting the video, getting the Indiegogo page all set up, figuring out the first set of perks, and then next week on whatever day feels right, we’ll go live.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, hopefully announce the new CD release and hopefully get some nice orders for it, do whatever needs doing, have an early dinner, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite series books – those with returning characters? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have told the tale of two lunches.
