GETTING TO 50% – WE CAN DO THIS!

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, we got to 47% yesterday, but there wasn’t any action after the morning and I was really hoping to get to 50%, which is something we must achieve very soon, like today. So, let’s make this an achieving day, shall we. The Perk of the Day is the secret perk so you’ll have to use the handy-dandy secret link to see the secret perk – it’s kind of fun and pretty cheap, so you’ll find the secret link to the secret perk in the third post of the new day on our discussion board. Once you know the secret, mum is the word. Not Grease – Grease is not the word – mum is the word. And, as always, here’s the not so secret link to the not so secret Indiegogo campaign, and today we need some Go Go for sure.

I did manage to watch a motion picture last night, entitled Iris (or as Netflix calls it, In the Shadow of Iris, like that’s helpful or something – it’s not). It’s a French motion picture from France and it starts out fine and remains intriguing for about half of its run time. Then it begins getting too convoluted for its own good and by the end of it it’s a big, arty, who cares? It’s billed as an erotic thriller, but there’s nothing that’s very erotic about it and there certainly aren’t any thrills. The music, composed by an ambient music duo, is ludicrous. Actors are okay – much glaring and staring.

Yesterday was a day in which I got five hours of sleep, if that. Once up, whilst waiting for the helper to arrive, I answered e-mails and saw that we’d had one contributor in the morning, the one that took us to 47%. After that, nothing all day and all night. To that end, I put up a couple of new perks just a bit ago – the secretive secret perk and the very pricey but worth every penny perk.

The helper arrived and took the box o’ books to ship and ship them she did, so they’re now on their way and I can’t wait for people to read it. She also took the rare CD box so that when we close the campaign, she’ll have those already and she can get them right out.

Once she left, I ordered food from Granville in the City of Studio – their Uptown Mac-and-Cheese – which is mac-and-cheese, chicken, and asparagus. It got here super-fast and was really excellent. Then I began doing the little dialogue polish for two characters, but I also found more potential cuts – just pruning unnecessary lines and words here and there. I got to page 70, I think.

Then I did some writing on the little web series we’re thinking about doing. I want the episodes to run approximately ten minutes and thus the script should run ten to twelve pages, I think. I’ve done six so far and I know where it’s going from there. It’s fun so far and so far it’s fun, not necessarily in that order.

I had some telephonic conversations, watched the first cut of a little sizzle reel we’re doing for Laura Wolfe, from her act. I had a little pistachio ice cream from Thrifty’s that I got at Rite Aid the other night, and that was about it, food-wise. Then I watched the movie, and then I did a few other things that needed doing.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll hope for some Indiegogo go go action and hope we get past the 50% mark, the lunch has been postponed so I’ll probably get something from Gelson’s that I can make here, perhaps Wacky Noodles would be nice, or faux chicken stroganoff. We shall see. I’ll cheerlead, I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, I’ll do more polishing and writing, I’ll do more cheerleading, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow, I go to Marshall Harvey’s house to finesse the Laura Wolfe sizzle reel and perhaps we’ll lunch afterwards. Then it’s back to cheerleading and writing. Sunday and next week are all more of the same.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, hope for some Indiegogo action, eat, cheerlead, hopefully pick up some packages, polish, write, cheerlead, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – nothing. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping we get to 50%. We can DO this!
