Well, dear readers, I have breaking news and it’s a new number, said new number being – 110%, which does, I think, just cover the Indiegogo fees. So, now we’re in our stretch goal where the sky is the limit and the limit is the sky – the more we raise, the more projects we can do – CD releases and shows – and have that cushion that makes everything regarding Kritzerland less stressful. I really didn’t think we’d do much yesterday, but three big ticket things happened, which took us to 109% early on, and then one little twenty-dollar thing took us to 110%. The other thing is that about five years ago, Indiegogo decided that they could hold back 5% in case of anyone changing their mind. Well, no one has ever changed their mind in one of our campaigns and the credit cards have already been charged. In their terms of service, they actually say that they can hold that money for up to six months. Now, they’ve never done that, but it is always a few weeks till we get it, so it would be nice to cover that, too, plus we just have so many fun things waiting in the wings I just want the rest of this year to be loaded with releases. I’m heading to storage today to see what other goodies might be there, especially out of print Varese Sarabande titles. But if I can find and actually get to it, I also have more original art for Lost in Boston and Unsung Musicals and someone has already told me they’ll come in for one of those. But if they’re deeply buried in the storage unit, I’m not gonna be able to get them. So, I’ll bring home as much as I can. As always, here’s the linkilicious handy-dandy link.
I did watch a motion picture last night, entitled A Good Marriage – actually, the title is really Stephen King’s A Good Marriage, adapted by King from one of his novellas. Despite an intriguing premise and some clever reveals, it’s just not very compelling or interesting, mostly due to really inept direction. Joan Allen and Anthony LaPaglia are very good as the married couple, but in the end it just sort of is and never really lands.
Yesterday turned out to be a pretty interesting and great day, not only with the Indiegogo stuff, but because after almost a week without a single order, someone ordered almost all the Bagley CDs – which came to over $700 and boy I cannot tell you how helpful that was – a true little miracle that was followed by another little miracle. And then another nice eighty-dollar order. My kind of day. I didn’t end up futzing or finessing the new script, but I’ll try and do that today. The very day I came up with the idea for this web series, I sat down and wrote a main title theme. Richard Allen orchestrated and did a track, which I got yesterday, and I kind of loved it. It’s got a 70s vibe and yet still feels modern, even though they don’t really write the same kinds of themes these days.
Then I shaved and showered and moseyed on over to the Smokehouse, where Marshall Harvey and I were treated to a lovely thank you dinner by Laura Wolfe and her soon to be hubby Ben. He had a little salad and the Steak Sinatra, while the rest of us had the filet mignon. I also had a dinner salad to start, with their great 1000-Island dressing. The steak was, as always, perfect, and their Bearnaise sauce is incredible. Normally, for my side I have the creamed spinach, but I had two helping of their veggies instead. Of course, we began everything with the garlic cheese bread, and I was a really good boy and only had two small pieces. For dessert, Ben had cheesecake and I had my beloved crème brulee. I was very full, even though it really wasn’t all that much, what with the filet only being eight ounces.
Then I came home, watched the motion picture, and now here we are, relaxing and listening to Geoffrey Toye’s ballet, The Haunted Ballroom, which I must have downloaded from YouTube at some point but never listened to. It’s quite delightfully delightful.
Today, I’ll try to be up by eleven and to the storage place by noon o’clock. I’ll probably spend an hour there, then I’ll go to the mail place and see what’s what, since I didn’t do that yesterday, then I’ll come home and put whatever new perky perks I find, cheerlead a bit, eat, and then watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, we’re in the last five days of the campaign and we’ll hopefully keep going up and to infinity and beyond. That will be my week, other than choosing material for the August Kritzerland show, futzing and finessing, writing another episode or two, having a Zoom with David Wechter, just going over a few final things to adjust, after which we’ll send the script to some folks we trust and see what they think. On Thursday and Friday, we’ll have the countdown to the campaign close.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, go to the storage place and forage for stuff, I must go to the mail place, futz and finesse, eat, write, cheerlead and put up new perky perks, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, so happy we’ve covered the fees and now it’s too infinity and beyond.
