Well, dear readers, as of noon o’clock today, we’ll be down to the last twenty-four hours of our Indiegogo campaign, and I hope it will be twenty-four hours of lovin’. We had a slow start to Indiegogo action yesterday, but as soon as I put up a few new perky perks we perked right up and percolated and after a short time we got to 126%, so that was great. I’ve saved a couple of perky perks for this final twenty-four hours, including one big boy perk that I don’t think anyone will be able to afford. That perky perk will be a “private” perky perk that you’ll need a link for. I’m hoping we can continue going up, up, and away to infinity and beyond, and I’m hoping that some people have been purposely waiting until the final hours to make their contributions and that will have some last-minute surprises. I believe the campaign ends around eleven-thirty tomorrow morning. I wish they did what they used to do – a countdown clock – that was not only helpful but really fun. Maybe they’ve reinstated it. So, once again, check out the perky perks and if something is of interest just PM me and make an offer – it doesn’t matter what the offer is, just make it. You might just be surprised. Below you will find the ever-present, handy-dandy linkilicious linky link.
I did manage to watch a motion picture last night, entitled A Simple Favor, based on one of those literary overnight “sensations” by a first-time author – thing Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train. I think in time people will wonder why they ever thought these books were good, but that’s the way these things usually go. The film is very arch and is never quite sure what the tone should be. It’s not bad – in fact, it’s very watchable – it’s just typical. Anna Kendrick is terrific and reason enough to watch. The other actors are not anywhere near her level, and that includes her co-star, Blake Lively. There are amusing moments along the way, but the direction is just what you’d think it would be – influenced by directors who were influenced by other directors, which, of course, makes everything even more watered down. I found the use of the songs especially irritating. And I must say, there are certain similarities in plotting to the Adriana Hofstetter mysteries and especially Murder at the Masquers, which has the exact same plot turn and which, of course, was written long before this literary sensation. These movies I’ve been viewing have all been on Freevee, which is the new name for the imdb streaming platform. You do have to endure a LOT of commercials along the way.
Yesterday was a slow day for awhile and then it picked up. Once again, I got about six and a half hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, put up the new perky perks, did some cheerleading and posting to various Facebook groups, had some telephonic conversations, and began writing episode three and got the first sequence done. I made tuna sandwiches again for food and they were very good. I had these on those Hawaiian burger buns. We went up to 126%, and then I finally sat on my couch like so much fish and watched the movie.
After the movie, around nine-thirty, I ordered a chicken breast and wing from California Chicken Café. It arrived fairly quickly and as sometimes happen just before they close, they gave me two extra wings. I ate that all up – it wasn’t the best batch, but it was okay. Then I did a few other things and that was that.
Today, I’ll be up by eleven, we’ll begin the last twenty-four hours of the campaign, I’ll mostly cheerlead, I’ll put up a handful of new perky perks towards the end of the day, I’ll eat something light but fun, I’ll try to finish episode three or get as far as I can, I’ll cheerlead, we’ll hopefully have a good Indiegogo day, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I’ll be up early, by eight-thirty, so we can do the countdown to the finish line and hopefully end with a parade in town with seventy-six trombones leading the big parade, going up, up, and away to infinity and beyond. Saturday, she of the Evil Eye comes, so no sleeping in for the likes of me, but hopefully it will be a day of celebration, like the musical of the same name. Sunday will be a ME day all the way.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven as we begin the last twenty-four hours of the campaign, cheerlead, put up a handful of new perky perks, eat, cheerlead, hopefully have a good Indiegogo day and evening, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite songs by the team of Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have gotten to 126% and hoping we keep going up, up, and way in our beautiful balloon to infinity and beyond as we head to the finish line and a big finish.
