Well, dear readers, our Indiegogo campaign has come to an end. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, in breaking bombshell news our Indiegogo campaign has come to an end. And what a campaign it was, right from the very beginning. Thanks to all here who endured the endless cheerleading that must be done to succeed, and I’d say we succeeded pretty damn well. We had a great first week, but we actually never had a bum week, which is kind of a first. We hit our goal an entire week early and the rest was just going up and up and up from there. And yesterday was an amazing day, with one huge contributor that took us up thirteen percent in one fell swoop. But the action was pretty consistent – a bit of a slowdown as we approached the final hours, and then we got to the finish line with a rather astonishing 147%! Amazing, considering we began the day with 131%. Anyway, you people are AMAZING, and it was exhausting but lots of fun, at least for the likes of me. And look – no more handy-dandy linkilicious linky link.
Yesterday was a fierce day. I think I may have gotten five hours of sleep. I’d intended to get up at eleven-thirty, but I was up at nine and there was no going back to sleep. And then it was just cheerleading all the livelong day and evening, over and over and over again. At around noon-thirty, I made some bow tie pasta with butter, cheese, and sauteed onions – about six ounces, I’d say – and that was very good. I did take occasional breaks here and there because it’s just really exhausting doing what we were doing. At two, I knew a big contribution was coming, so that was nice to know in advance and that contribution came at five. I tried to watch some stuff but that wasn’t happening – my mind was you-know-where.
I began the official countdown at five, I think, and that continued every hour on the hour. At some point around eight, after making that T-minus post, I did a quick Gelson’s run because she of the Evil Eye needed Tide. I got that and came right back home and then I just sat here like so much fish, cheerleading like crazy – I did put up a handful of new perks during the day, and one final one in the evening – most of those got snapped up. I also finished writing episode three, so that was good. And then it was just doing the cheerleading thing right up until we ended at 11:59. Whew!
Today, oh how I wish I could sleep in, but alas, she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and I’ll have to go do stuff and probably have a light breakfast, visit the mail place, and kill time at the nearby mall. Once I’m back home, then I’ll futz and finesse episode three and move on to episode four and try to get into that a little bit. But mostly I’ll relax and recuperate, announce the August Kritzerland show, start to put the word out about the web series, and start to catch up on all the things I had to let slide over the past four weeks. We’ll also start shipping out the very errant and truant titles from over two months ago and get the last three ready so those won’t be too late. Once the Indiegogo funds come in, then I begin planning a slate of releases for the next three or four months, so that they’re regular, not so sporadic as we’ve been. Then I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I may call someone and see about having a celebratory meal – I’d really enjoy that. Then next week is all catching up, writing more episodes, making a show order and writing commentary and getting CDs shipped out. I don’t want to think about perk stuff until the following week, then as soon as we get the fund they withhold for a couple of weeks, then we’ll start to ship out the perky perks. And there’ll be a LOT to ship, but thankfully not too much overseas this time.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight-thirty, have a light breakfast, visit the mail place, kill time at the nearby mall, futz and finesse, write, announce the Kritzerland show and let folks know that we’ll be doing this web series in New York, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What perky perks were the most interesting for you? If you got any, what were you happiest about? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, so happy and thrilled to have gotten to 147% and just shy of thirty thousand dollars.
