Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry for she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and people such as I need their damn beauty sleep although it is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and, conversely, the beholder is in the eye of beauty. Already, I have no idea what the HELL I’m talking about. I did finish Kleo, the German limited series – loved the leading lady and all the actors were good, but, sadly, the final episodes jumped the shark occasionally, especially in one instance and the problem is you’ve invested in the story and the characters and when something completely and stupidly out of the blue happens that couldn’t possibly happen, then that all gets thrown out the window. So, despite one interesting turn at the end, it just limps to the finish line. But if I were a US producer, I would sign up Jella Haase right now. Apparently, she’s done a lot of well-known stuff in Germany. I can’t remember if I talked about a movie I watched the other night entitled The 4th Floor, starring Juliette Lewis, William Hurt, Shelly Duvall, and Austin Pendelton. I like Ms. Lewis and Ms. Duvall is weird and interesting. Mr. Hurt seems not to know what movie he’s in or how to play his character, but he’s with a novice director. From what I read, it went direct to home video and the reason for that is simple – it’s TERRIBLE. Horrible writing, characters behaving in ways that make no sense for no reason, bad dialogue, and a plot that defies credulity and is just plain silly. A shame, as Ms. Lewis deserved better. Enough preamble, let us get to the meat of the notes, along with the potatoes of the notes.
Yesterday was a weird little day. I got seven hours of sleep, had several telephonic conversations, answered a lot of e-mails, found out that we now have a proper casting director for the web series, which will be VERY helpful, and one of our four series regulars isn’t doing it – I shan’t go into detail other than I simply will never understand this young generation of actors – never ever understand how they get anywhere, but of course, most of them don’t. I’ll just leave it at that. So, we’ll have submissions and lots of self-tapes to watch and I’m certain we’ll find someone wonderful, oh, yes, I’m certain we’ll find someone wonderful. I am so grateful that I had my acting career when I did, not that I would be like this generation of actors even now, I just wouldn’t.
I went to Gelson’s and got onion rolls and some stuff for she of the Evil Eye, came home, had two tuna sandwiches, which were very good, and then just did a lot o’ stuff on the computer. I kept starting movies and then not liking them, but finally settled on something later in the evening – The Exorcism of Emily Rose, starring Laura Linney. So far, I’m enjoying it and will finish watching prior to posting these here notes, as I really want to be in bed by twelve-thirty or one.
Today, I’ll be up by eight-thirty and out of the house by nine. I’ll have a light breakfast somewhere – may try something new or somewhere I haven’t been in a while – then I’ll do stuff until it’s time to come home. At two, a helper person will arrive, and we’ll spend two or three hours getting perks ready to ship, so that will be very helpful. Then the helper can come and pick up the stuff and we can get on the road, perks-wise. After that, I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow must be a ME day, start to finish. Then this week is all shipping perks, casting our web series, and I still have a few songs to choose.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight-thirty and out of the house by nine, have a light breakfast somewhere, do stuff, come home, organize perks with a helper person, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite movies about possession – stuff like The Exorcist and that kind of film. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
