Well, dear readers, our fifth day of shooting was our only short day and it went very well. I didn’t get my wake-up call so got there late, but we actually began on time and finished right on time. We began with the duet – Sami and Allie Trimm. We did it several times from several angles and that was that. Then came Charles Busch and he was delightful in his bit and it went pretty quickly. And we finished with Sami doing the faux commercial. I walked back to the place where I’m staying, caught up on a few things, then went to the little diner around the corner and got the pasta I liked and a slice of carrot cake, came back and ate both – very good. I got around to answering some e-mails, and then plopped on the bed, turned on the TV and fell asleep for a couple of hours.
Once back up, I had a telephonic conversation, some texts, and then it was time to write these here notes. Here are some photos from yesterday’s green screen shoot.
Today, I’ll be up by six-thirty and to the club where we’re shooting by eight-thirty. We begin shooting at ten and will hopefully wrap the first sequence and a short other sequence by twelve-thirty at the latest. There there’ll be a lunch break, after which I shoot the audience reactions to the duet we’ll be filming. Once that’s done, we let the extras go and shoot the duet with Sami and Karen Ziemba. We must be wrapped at four. If we end up with forty minutes at the end of the day, then I’ll shoot Sami’s solo club song, which will make Monday easier.
Tomorrow we’re in a rehearsal studio all day – two sequences to shoot there, both of which involve songs. There’s a bit of coverage that needs to be done so it will probably be a full day. Sunday is more rehearsal studio but these sequences don’t involve songs but still involve a fair amount of coverage. Then on Monday we’re at another club and we’re out by three and I’m sure we’ll all go have a celebratory dinner somewhere. Then on Tuesday, I shall be on my way to the airport and then on my way home.
Of course, on Sunday, after we wrap at five, we’re having a haineshisway.com get-together and I’d be very appreciative if someone would make those arrangements. I can be there at five-thirty and Joe Allen would be my suggestion since I won’t be far from there. If someone could find out how many we are and then make that reservation that would be grand.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up at six-thirty and to the club location by eight-thirty. I’ll block the scene and we’ll film it, then move into the actual club (first scene takes place in an office), and we’ll shoot the rest of the day there. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – CD, nothing. Blu-ray, nothing. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, having had a good time doing the green screen day.
