A LOVELY MIRACLE AND OTHER STORIES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry because she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and all too soon I shall have to be up early and leave her to her work. The good news is there’s not all that much to write about. I did have a lovely miracle yesterday, at least part one. But I really need part two of the miracle, so please send your most excellent vibes and xylophones for part two of the lovely miracle. Otherwise, I did watch a motion picture entitled Nope. Perhaps I was too tired to enjoy it or even know what the HELL it was about, but I didn’t care for it much. I liked the director’s first two films, Get Out and Us, but this one is too long, too obtuse, and I couldn’t understand two-thirds of the dialogue, which is not a good thing. I’ll give it a second chance at some point. This was the first of the streaming DGA screeners we’ve gotten.

Yesterday was the second day I only got about four hours of sleep. So, I was tired for most of the day. I did catch up on forwarding orders, I did have a lovely miracle, part one, Marshall Harvey came by and picked up the drive with the last five days of footage, I ordered my small pepperoni pizza, which arrived quickly, but was undercooked and missing the thing that makes its crust so good – seasoning. I got a full refund, then ordered six bagels from Western Bagel and made tuna sandwiches. Those were good, although I think the onions are not sitting well in my tummy – although it seems not much is sitting well in my tummy these days. I had several conversations with Cindy Williams and we’ll now try to book her song and then her phone conversations – and that will complete the ten episodes save for mixing the vocals on the songs with their respective tracks. Otherwise, I really just didn’t do much else, other than watch the horrifying Darrell Brooks trial – he was completely out of control, rude to the judge – not only rude, but screaming at her like an eight-year-old, taking forever to ask four or five questions of his witnesses and each witness doing him no favors. He was removed from the courtroom two or three times and the judge gave him every opportunity to come back – too many, actually, but she’s got to do it so he can’t delay the trial or get a mistrial. In fact, I cannot imagine an appeals court anywhere in the universe would read the record of this trial and not do anything but tell him to get lost. I think he’s stretching this out because he knows he’s going to jail for several lifetimes. I would not be surprised if he tried to take the plea deal that was offered to him, but at this point I doubt the State would give it to him after all his childish tantrums. He gets completely frustrated because he doesn’t know what he’s doing – well, brainiac, that’s what happens when you represent yourself. All his objection terms that he tosses out after every single question from the State are things he heard the State say when they objected. He hasn’t a clew as to what the grounds for these objections mean. But yesterday, this narcissist was at his worse and vilest. He actually had the temerity to badger one of HIS witnesses and that was the end of it for the judge AND the State. He then went berserk. I mean, in my opinion, the guy has a screw loose, and he has been in and out of trouble his entire life. I don’t think he’s got many more witnesses – perhaps one or two, and then there’ll be closing arguments, which thankfully have a time limit, and then the case will go to the jury, and I think their verdict will not take too long. As I mentioned in a post yesterday, I would not recommend this to anyone because you’ll end up screaming at this guy. He is a despicable specimen.

Today, I’ll be up by eight-thirty, I’ll go have a light breakfast somewhere, I’ll finally pick up the two packages that have been sitting at the mail place like so much fish for a week, I’ll do some errands and whatnot, then come home and watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow will be a ME day, and then this next week we’ll wrap up Cindy’s stuff and then I can begin planning the December Kritzerland show, but most of all I’m praying for part two of the miracle, so do send those vibes and xylophones. Here’s a photograph from the Vitello’s shoot – our Sami and our Jason.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight-thirty, have a light breakfast somewhere, finally pick up two packages at the mail place, do some errands and whatnot, then come home and watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite movies featuring aliens? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, grateful to have gotten part one of a lovely miracle.
