Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry as they should have been up six minutes ago and yet aren’t up because I was on a long telephonic conversation, conversing, which is what I do on a telephonic conversation. So, I must write like the wind on a windy day as I listen to music by a German composer named Max Butting that’s very German of the Weill period from the 1920s. It’s from a fun album called Suites and Overtures from The Radio, Volume Two. It also has music by Mischa Spoliansky, who I’m a big fan of. But I mustn’t dwell on any topic too long because these here notes are too late and are getting later all the time. Prior to the long telephonic call, I watched a motion picture entitled Peppermint from four years ago. I’d never even heard of it before. It’s one of those “revenge” pictures, but with a female revenger, in this case Jennifer Garner, who sees her daughter and husband shot by bad people, who also would her. Some years later, she’s an avenging angel determined to serve vengeance on those who not only perpetrated it, but the judge and prosecution who let the bad boys get away with it. And serve vengeance she does. It’s nothing we haven’t seen a zillion times before, the writing is perfunctory, and it’s directed in the style of taken, which I suppose is natural since the director directed Taken. It’s not too long, speeds along nicely and since I always enjoy a good vengeance film, I enjoyed it. I also began watching another film, another thriller this called Close and starring Noomi Rapace. Fifteen minutes in I realized I’d seen it and not that long ago, so I shut it off. I checked to see if I wrote about it but couldn’t find anything. Oh, I just found it. I hated it. Good thing I remembered I’d seen it. And now, as I listen to music by Ernst Toch, a fine composer of classical and film music, let us bid a fond farewell to this paragraph because I am writing these notes in a hurry, and I don’t care who knows it. For example, I know it and I don’t care.
Yesterday was certainly something, not sure what. I had a horrible night – in fact, I thought I might have to bid a fond farewell to the planet Earth, that’s how horrible it was. Horrible heartburn or acid reflux or whatever the HELL was going on and I was out of Pepcid. Damn them, damn them all to HELL. And my allergies were bugging me, too, so I took a Claritin-D. But I was so agitated, akin to having a really bad panic attack although I don’t have panic attacks, just things akin to them, I was so agitated that I wanted to eat the head of a chicken. I was, I think, hyperventilating, which means I was ventilating strongly. At three-thirty, not having slept a wink, I got up, went to the computer, went to DoorDash, and ordered Pepcid from the twenty-four-hour CVS nearby. I ordered a few other odds and ends and about twenty minutes later the stuff arrived, and I instantly popped a Pepcid. That helped pretty quickly, actually, and by five I was back in bed and fell asleep pretty fast and slept until around noon, so seven hours of sleep, I suppose.
Once up, I answered e-mails, did a few things on the computer, didn’t choose songs, which I really must do today, then I moseyed on over to the mail place and picked up one package, this year’s Christmas cards, so I can start sending those out soon. I stopped at Popeye’s and got two mild breasts and attendant biscuits, then came home and ate them. Pretty good. Then I had several telephonic conversations, during which I conversed. Finally, I watched the movie. And now, it’s the film music-like classical music of Mr. Ernst Toch, so yes, Tick-Toch Goes the Toch.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll start choosing songs and try to get half of the show chosen and get those kids their music, then I’m being taken for an early birthday luncheon by Robert Yacko, so that will be fun. After that, I’ll check with the mail place and see if there’s anything to go gather up. Then I’ll come home and watch, listen, and relax, which is surprisingly hard to do when one is dealing with high stress levels.
Tomorrow is, of course, a birthday day for the likes of ME, so it will be a ME day from start to finish. I’ll be taken for a birthday luncheon by Richard Sherman and daughter Vicky, and then I honestly don’t know what else is happening or not happening. I’d just like a nice, calm birthday day and evening. To celebrate being a new age, namely seventy-five, perhaps I’ll to the Dance at the Gym – Geriatric Version. Friday, I’ll hopefully be seeing the first cut of episode three, unless somehow, I see it sooner than that, as I think it’s almost finished. On Sunday, it’s another birthday luncheon, this time with dear reader Jeanne.
Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s all break out the cheese slices and ham chunks, let’s all dance the Hora or the box step, because today is the birthday of our very own beloved dear reader Jane, who I’ve known since she was fifteen years of age. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to our very own beloved dear reader Jane, who I’ve known since she was fifteen years of age. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR VERY OWN BELOVED DEAR READER JANE, WHO I’VE KNOWN SINCE SHE WAS FIFTEEN YEARS OF AGE!!!
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, start choosing songs, have an early birthday lunch, hopefully pick up packages, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to finally post these too late notes.
