Well, dear readers, all fixes have been entered, Muse Margaret and I have discussed and decided on things I couldn’t decide on, and so now the book will go in for designing, which may take a bit of time as Grant Geissman is also doing another book right now, but this one’s pretty simple for him so hopefully he’ll get to it sooner than later. The cover stuff is with Doug Haverty, and I’ve sent a PDF to two people for blurbs, so hopefully they’ll read it and get those to me. Otherwise, I am not feeling great, which I think has a lot to do with the emotional rollercoaster this week, not sleeping that well, allergies, and phlegm, lots of phlegm. In fact, a couple of hours ago I took a Mucinex-D and hopefully that will help. At eight-thirty I did begin watching a movie called Enough, one of those standard-issue domestic violence thrillers that were popular with the populace back in the 1990s and early 2000s, this one being at the back end of that cycle – think Sleeping with the Enemy and The Rainmaker – they’re basically all the variations on the same theme. This one’s a bit silly thanks to some weird title cards like “Hey” and “Get out” and “a new leaf” that almost give an unintentional comic tone when they pop up. I still have an hour to go, and I’ll finish it before going to bed. I’m not listening to music at the moment but I am sitting here like so much fish, trying not to get sick and taking all my preventives to be safe.
Yesterday was okay. I got eight hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, and then finished entering proofer two’s fixes. Then I went to the bank, did a quick Gelson’s run for food – got stuff from the hot food bar – rigatoni with meat sauce, a bit of mac-and-cheese, and two meatballs. I couldn’t believe the cost of the rigatoni and mac-and-cheese, which you put in a plastic dish kind of container – twenty bucks. That’s just insanity and I shan’t be doing that again because – it’s insanity says Vanity Fair. Oh, a Thoroughly Modern Millie reference. I ate everything and it was certainly okay, with the two small meatballs being the winner, taste-wise. After that, I had a few telephonic conversations, including Muse Margaret, then I just caught up on some stuff, after which I began watching the motion picture.
Oh, we do need some major miracles around these here part before my head explodes, like Scanners, so do some some strong most excellent vibes and xylophones.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up and I’ll try to have a ME day and evening. I do have some things to do, and I’ll see if there’s anything at the mail place that needs picking up, otherwise I just want to rest and I don’t really want to talk to anyone. At some point, I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow at one, I’m doing some podcast thing tribute to Cindy Williams – don’t know how many of there’ll be but I do know old friend Anson Williams will be on. I have a link for it and I’ll provide it in the posts in the morning. After that, I can eat and do whatever, but I have to get the Robby Awards song in my head a little better than I have it. Sunday is a three o’clock sound check, then I come home, shave, shower, and then attend the Robby Awards as well as sing and present. Monday, something is going on and I cannot remember what, maybe some phone thing or meal thing – oh, yes, a phone thing at noon that will be very interesting, depending on how it goes. But next week is mainly Sami stuff – seeing the first cut of episode ten and finessing anything we think needs it, getting the two green screen numbers to Karl Sonnenberg so he can add the backgrounds, and then starting with episode one, do whatever tiny nitpicky notes I have, color correct whatever we feel needs it, we’re adding a “For Cindy” card at the end of each episode, and then we lock them as we go. Then they’ll all go to John Adams to make sure the sound is consistent from episode to episode, which I’m sure it will be or at least close. The locked shows will immediately go to the close captioning folks for close captioning, and our goal is to begin the uploading to Amazon process by March 1.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, try to have a ME day, see if there’s mail, eat, rest, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – CD, nothing. Blu-ray, nothing. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping I can get off the emotional rollercoaster sooner than later.
