THE THURSDAY THAT WAS A FRIDAY OR VICE VERSA

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these notes in a hurry for two reasons. Reason one is that she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and reason two it that the power went out for literally one second – just a blink of lights – clocks weren’t affected but of course the computer shut right down as did the modem, etc. So, I’m now worried that it will happen again so I’m writing these here notes just in case so that I can get them in the form and then if something happens I can post them from the iPhone. This is known as a pain in the ASS. It’s been raining all day and night, sometimes really hard, which I assume is the reason for the blink. It’s also windy. I’m watching a motion picture entitled Disclosure, based on a novel by Michael Crichton. I saw it when it came out – let’s just say that movies that are of a very specific time trying to be all hip and current do not date well – the computer stuff is very amusing now. I like Michael Douglas, I don’t care for Demi Moore, and Barry Levinson is not one of my favorite filmmakers. Add to that, a mundane screenplay (I have no idea if the book is good or not) and you get what you get. I can’t remember where this goes other than someone files a sexual harassment complaint at some point. Prior to that I had a one-hour nap that lasted one hour.

Yesterday was Friday. I thought it was Thursday, which is why the usual Friday topic of the day was in absentia. When Monday is a holiday, I just can’t keep track of the days, frankly. So, today is Saturday, just stating that for the record, and yesterday wasn’t Thursday it was Friday even though I thought it was Thursday. In any case, I did get eight hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, and then solved the problem we were having with one song. I knew I was right about it and I suspected what the problem was, but the engineer who recorded it finally married the mix to picture and there it was, perfect sync, where we were having issues with sync for some reason. Anyway, it’s all fixed now and that’s that. I had McDonald’s for lunch – ordered in – a double cheeseburger and two filet-o-fish. What arrived was two filet-o-fish and no cheeseburger, so I had to get a credit for that. The fish was okay – not as good as usual, but that’s been the case now for several months and it may just be my local McDonald’s, which frankly isn’t very good. The filet-o-fish sandwiches I got when DoorDash was going to the Encino branch were always really good, and that was just six months ago. Anyway, I ate the sandwiches and that was food. Later, I found a jernt on DoorDash that sold tiny bundt cakes, so I got two and ate one and it was really good. I’ll have the other one today at some point and at some point today I’ll have the other one. I did some work on the computer – making a list of things we can use for the sizzle reel/trailer for Sami, so we can get started on that. Then I napped and the rest you know.

Today, I’ll be up by eight-thirty and out the door by nine to have a light breakfast somewhere, then do some errands and whatnot, including a quick Ralph’s run for more soda and something for later, like perhaps a small top sirloin or something like that. They also have a Van de Kamp’s fried fish sandwich frozen thing and I may give that brand a little try to see if it’s better than Gorton’s. Then I’ll come home, do whatever needs doing, then watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow is more of the same, then on Monday we can start figuring out the sizzle trailer thing. The close captioning is going on now and I’m hoping that will get done in short order so we can then make the full resolution videos and get everything uploaded to Amazon Prime for approval. And then there’s a lot of stuff we have to do, promotion-wise and we really want to promote it and get the word out in a major way.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight-thirty, have a light breakfast, do errands and whatnot, do a quick Ralph’s run, go to the mail place and see what’s there, and then come home, do stuff, and watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: We may as well do yesterday’s – what is currently in your CD player, and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – CD, Japanese Promises, Promises. Blu-ray, The Captive Heart. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy that the days are back on track.
